lad trouble

ok this is a bit of a long story...

basicly i was going out with this lad (lets call him tom) for about a year. we broke up about 9months ago due to the distance between us (hes in north scotand and im in yorkshire). this was all fine and we stayed friends.

but 5months ago i started to go out with another lad (lets call him alex).

i couldnt bring myself to tell tom about alex because i didnt want to hurt his feelings. tom sufffours from depression you see so you always have to be carful with him.

anyway.... i finally told tom yesterday, and he didnt take it too well.

the basic jist of this is that now im confused. untill i upset him yesterday i didnt realise how much i still care about tom. as for my relashipship with alex, i think he likes me a lot more than i like him. but i dont want to dump him and hurt his feelings either.

anyone got any advise for me? it would be highly appretiated. thanks for lissening.

hes a little over the top with the whole relationship thing for me. hes into showing his affection and stuff, but i dont really like physical contact (not sure why). i think i just see too much of him, but he seems to think that we dont see enough of each other.... and he keeps taking about us still been together in 3 years tme, ect. which scares me a little really. its not that i dont like him, its more the idea of been with someone for that long. i think its more the whole commitment issue than anythoing else. i'd rather just see how it goes than try planning. but i find it difficult to talk to him about it since he seems to think its all going "great".
