It's true that some poems don't mean anything, and it's true that rhyming is not the most important point, for me it's just a little bonus... |

Rhymes are only but a small facet of writing poetry and are never necessary, I personally judge a poem not by whether it rhymes well or not. For me I don't care if the poem does not ryhme at all. |

Some people can't rhyme and are simplistic and amateurish in there rhyming and rhyme scheme. That being said, there are some others, whom although very expressive in their poetry, with emotion, feeling, and a message behind and in their works, who write only jumbled words and feelings without any artistic beauty or value. As those who can't rhyme but forcefully try to, still, don't understand that they need more than just a rhyming pattern for good poetry, those who just write their feeling don't understand that it isn't the feelings that make poetry art, but the choice of words, word play, the ability to eloquently and elegantly express thoughts, ideas, ideals, and emotions, the ability to create music with words (a rhythmic flow), to paint a picture, trough verbal expression – using nouns, verbs, adverbs, adjective(most explicitly), pronouns, predicates, rhythm and personification to achieve a desired result or/and an artful beauty. Yes, bad rhyming makes bad poetry, but also, jumble word and/or emotion can do the same!!! |
