This is a stupid question but i really dont know the answer to it. When someone dies, do they stay at the age they died at forever or do they get older like we do?

say someone died at 8, are they nine one year later or do they stay at age 8? if you know what i mean.
    Can anyone help me here?

if you need me to explain it more please ask me

It depends on your beleifs and religion.
All I know is that in my family we say they get older because we have a memory mass each year on their birthday.

First, I don't think thats a stupid question at all.

Second, here is what I know and also feel. My aunt had a near death experience or as some call it an out of body experience. She saw family members that had passed on. Her baby sister had died many many years earlier at the age of 5 and when she saw her, she was still 5. She also saw her brother who was 19 when he passed and he was still 19. I feel though that although they didn't age that they are watching us as we grow so they have memories........... I hope you understand what I am trying to explain and I hope it helps.......

Don't think too much of the dead my friend, for they do not think of us except that we should enjoy the fact we are alive.

Pity the dead that are dead, banging their hands against the city of lifes great walls.

I would like to thank the people that helped me out here, I guess it is down to what i beleive and i beleive that, for some reason, they dont get older, i beleive that they stay the same age they died at, so thank you for sharing your beleifs and stories.

one last question for kevin...what do you mean by "pity the dead that are dead"?

how are they supposed to age? how are we to know? not a dumb question, thought invoking tho.

i do not believe that people age. wether or not there is heaven or hell i am uncertain and will never be certain. i do not believe people age when they die because of OUR OWN memories, not the person that died. we remember the one who died a certain way, we cannot really imagine them any other way as they are not changing as we change, aging as we age. they are their, trapped in our memories, never growing older.

    anyways, thats my 2 cents

its not a silly question because its something i suppose we think about often.
My cousin died when she was 13, whenever i think of her, i see her as 13 because we dont know how they'll look when they are say 18 as my cousin should now be. I think our memory of people makes us keeps them at the age they died, but we all have different opinions and we all think differently.

I also think it depends on what you believe. It's your opinion, I guess. Unless is it somehow stated in your religion. But I think when a person dies they stay the same age.

To be very honest, I never thought about it. But now that I am thinking of the people in my life that past away, like my friend that commited suicide, he is still 17 for me. Cause I still see him the way he was when he left. I don't know if people age after they are dead. But for me... no

I think you stay the age you passed at. but it's okay for someone to later say. they would be 50 yrs old today, if they were still alive. but still, they didn't make it to 50, so I guess the age remains the same... and this really wasn't a dumb question
