Obsessed

My friend has been with a guy for a month and a half now, already he is making her life hell, telling her what to do. She doesn't seem to mind. But he's giving her a really hard time over me, because we went shopping at the weekend. he wants her with him all the time, he's even trying to get her a job where he works. I'm beginning to think he's taking this too far. do you think he is obsessed? I know my friend is feeling suffocated because she has admitted it to me. I know she doesn't want to leave, but he's slowly destroying her. and its pulling me apart.

Your friend's boyfriend is not obsessed. He is overly controlling. Controlling guys are generally clever and manipulative. They often try to put their gfs and spouses into virtual prisons and control every aspect of their lives. These pairings also frequently lead to abusive relationships. And however strange it is, some girls just gravitate to guys like that. But one thing you can bank on is that guys like this do not change their behavior, regardless of what they may tell you.
