Another female here, but what I'm going to say comes from a guy.

There is some good insight into what guys need from girls (and vice versa) in the book *Men are From Mars, Women Are from Venus* by John Gray.

According to the author, and I believe this makes sense, the most important things that guys need from their girlfriends or wives are approval, trust, acceptance, appreciation, admiration and encouragement.

On the flip side, the most important things that girls need from their guys are caring, understanding, respect, devotion, validation and reassurance.

What if you're crushing on someone how can you give them those things, you're not married to them?

Becky, it’s good to hear that someone else here has an appreciation for “Mars & Venus.” It helped me to have a better understanding of guys in general including my Father and other male members of my family and my partner, and then ultimately with my boyfriend who I met years after I read the book. The material isn’t necessarily original but the writer was the first to gather it all into one package with this book.

"What if you're crushing on someone how can you give them those things, you're not married to them?".

Well, you don't have to be married to offer a casual compliment to a guy. That's a form of admiration. You can also offer words of encouragement, appreciation, etc. in a casual way. In fact, that's the purpose that cheerleaders serve. But you can do the same thing on a one-to one basis.

^^ Not cool! Not even amusing!

You're talking to a lot of 13-14-15 year olds here.

Exercise some appropriate responsibility and common decency here.
