Okay, I lived in St. Bernard Parish, which now is a toxic wasteland. Ever since Katrina, I haven't seen or even heard from SOOO MANY of my friends. I have been in this depressed, can't eat can't sleep, not talking mood for 3 weeks. I don't know if my friends are alive, I have no house, insurance screwed me over, I can't go back to where my home once was, and well, I have to get a job at 15 to support my family more! I don't know what more I can do. I am confused and scared. Can anyone help? |

First, I'm sorry for what you and anyone else is having to go through over this. I know it is a devastating experience. Three members of my family went to the Gulf Coast to volunteer in the disaster relief work and I've heard so many heart wrenching stories that never make the nightly news. |

I have heard from like 3 of my friends and that is it. I eard rumors that a lot of them died. i looked online.... FEMA gave us 1300 and said that is all we get. We have been paying for flood insurance for over 15 years... when we talked to the morgage company 2 weeks ago he told us "Well, um, we FIGURED, since you weren't in a flood zone, you wouldn't need it" So we quit paying for it. Now we get NO money for our house or anything in it. We are screwed! |
