How easy do you think it is to get anorexia?
I know that ballerinas get it very easily, but what about normal people?

    easy, easy, easy, easy..
I was fat.. I mean way over weight, and it never bothered me. But then when I started excersizing, I liked the weightloss so much I wanted to lose more.
So I developed an eating disorder, where I would drink only water and eat only a single cracker a day. If my parents then forced me to eat, I would puke it out later.
which got me in a lot of trouble, so much so that I was addmitted into some special hospital where they fed me through tubes.
After severe counciling and major medicine use...

I'm doin okay now, but it happend quickly and the suffering isn't worth it. so don't think of trying to get one!

in september a thin girl joined my class,i mean i wasnt fat at all, i was slim but she just looked great and i thought hmmm . . . so i began an intense diet, my best friend also joined in at first until i was waking up at 5 every morning to go jogging and cut down to just one meal a day in the first two weeks. i liked the control of not eating.

it felt comfortable when i was hungry. i didnt touch anything but water and snacks like crackers and celery. when people like my friends and the teachers (after about one month or so) made me eat, i would throw it up. i was sent to the counsellor.
    by after a 6weeks i had gone from a healthy 8stone7lbs to 6stone4lbs.
my best friend was in a car crash and was in the hospital and a nurse made me realise. now im back on track, i still eat one meal a day because my body is adapting but i dont exerciseas much. if i eat more im so full my body throws it up again. people are still worrying though grrr.

but i guess i wanted to say how easy it is t fall into the trap of eating disorders.

    In a way, it does.
I've lost control and satisfaction over a number of things, too.
I'm so angry with my family and with myself. I want them to realize that I'm not alright, and that they have to start being a little bit more careful how they treat me.
But of course, I would have to be full-blown anorexic before they would do as much as lift an eyebrow.

I didn't say I wanted to become anorexic OR bulimic, this post actually started off with the question of how many NORMAL people get anorexia, like, how many of your friends or family have it.
I merely stated that I'd have to become very sick before may parents would actually notice.
But I never said that I would do it.

    Thanks anyway

you can't tell people not to become anorexic or bulimic because its not a choice. you just become it and you don't even know.
i started off dieting, eating healthier and doing more exercise. when i began to lose weight i loved it and carried on. . . in 2 months i had lost iver 2 stone so don't tell me that its a choice.
    you're in so deep . . .
