Time for some contemplation

Months have passed since the idea of Poetry clubs became reality in here, and I figured it`s about time to evaluate it.

What are the ups and downs?

    Share your opinions!

Is there room for improvement? If so, where?

As for me, I like the whole idea. It`s much easier for those who just joined this site to make good friends in shorter time. Besides, it is more intimate, the discussions in the club-forum less often end up in fights, and it`s alot easier to express oneself when you know the exact number of people that possibly can read your post.

There are some bad sides too, however...Firstly, and obviously, the main-forums have suffered somewhat. They are by far as lively as they used to be, which I think is quite sad. Secondly, and none the less obvious, people are separated. I mean, I barely talk to some of my older friends in here, as they are members of other clubs. This is the biggest problem. I feel as if the members of various clubs are drifting slowly apart.

I don`t want that to happen.

    In fact, I hate it!

Even though I have been lucky enough to end up in a club with a number of excellent poets and great personalities (I am truly thankful!!!You know who you are) I still miss the old times somewhat...

Am I the only one with these thoughts?

Please, tell me what you think too...I am really curious!

    peace

EOB: It does not matter what I think, only what I do. When I am dead and gone, my thoughts will be lost forever, but my actions will live on.

I joined a poetry club to become a better poet. In so doing I met some great people and not only have I become a better poet, by participating in challenges and writing different genre's, but I have also become a better person, in the sharing and giving that takes place between people who develop friendships through the commonality of their writing.

The big boards allow you to say what you feel within acceptable social boundries, but the board within your club requires that you take into consideration the feelings of the friends you have developed within that club.

So, on the premise that what I think matters not, but what I do says it all, I am a member of CC&P because I choose to be. And, yes, I miss your presence within the group. Take care my friend and thank you for stimulating my thoughts, so that I could verify my actions are indeed still valid.

at first i was strongly against the clubs for the same reasons of people being left out, but i wanted to improve my poetry which wasn't happening so i joined one to experiment. then i changed clubs and i have to say that it has given me a place to learn and improve. no one in our club is fighting with another we just all get along andpoint out things that need to be improved on.

You just click on Poetry Clubs and find a club that you would like to join the apply.

For some clubs there are requirements set up by the club manager, but for a large portion, including our (effects of Poetry) there are no requirements.

Hope this helps you out some.

Clubs are pretty nice, as they are smaller, so more united.
Pity that you have to have so many awards to get to make one, or assist in one.

I guess it's just so that only the older, and better poets get to become managers or assistants in clubs.

i have a lot of fun with my club. the challenges are great and it's easier to keep organized because it's a smaller group. we don't have fights just discussion and it's great. We try to bring in new creative ideas to other poets, or bring tips to improve people’s poetry. And I feel that I’ve among others have improved a lot since we’ve joined clubs.
