Is it just me

After I have written something and am completed, except maybe with editing, I don't really read it any, or even take much interest after that. I love the writing process of gettingeverything out and working and reworking and all that jazz. But once I have written something I just toss it in the pile of done, don't read it again, and start going on to other stuff. I don't even seem to like it that much anymore. Maybe I don't read it again because I know the inner workings of my poems, what things are and the depth, and so I dont have to read it. Anyways I was wondering if that is just me.

Hehe. Well you are probably not the only one =) Myself, It's not that I love to read my own poems over and over again haha. But I sometimes read them.. Most of the time when I read a poem of mine after it is finished I think: oh god, this is so bad. haha. But when I was writing it I had the feeling that it was good. =P hehe

After I finish mine, I either know if it's bad or good. If it's good, I will feel like complete and if it's not then I try to fix it up until I feel complete.. Although that usually doesn't end up happening and I get frustrated and go other things to get all my stupid feelings out lol. Anyway.

At the time I will be proud of it.. And think that it is good (If it is) But.. I was looking back on some old ones today, and they are rather crap. I don't know if it's just me aiming higher - or if they're really crap or not. Then again I'm not really satisfied with anything I do but yess...

There are a few that I do really think are good. But I think it's because they meant the most to me out of them all. They have the most of my feelings in them or something. I don't know. I'm confused now. Lol.

After I have finished a poem I also do not gander upon it again till many years down the road or not at all. A perfect example of that is a poem I wrote when I was 11. I laughed very hard when I discovered it I totally forgot that I wrote it. But I usually do not read my work after I feel it is complete. I spend a lot of time editing poems I really put my heart into. I will go over a poem a few dozen times and spend weeks editing if I really enjoy writing on the subject. So I know what you mean by stating "...I know the inner workings..." But, yes, I am with you on that one. After I write something I do not care about it, its like throwing away a memory.

Oh no, I love reading my poems back to myself. I am aware that most of my poems only balance on 'mediocre' and maybe a few slip into the 'good' category once in a while, I realise they are not outstanding pieces of work, but they're the best I can do and I love 'em.
