Weird Habit

    Okay, ever since I've been depressed, I've had this problem of screaming, alot. Like once I dropped my pencil and I screamed! Then, I fell in the hall and sceamed so loudly I got in trouble, (ps I wasn't hurt) All the time people at school or ho,e jump out at me or scare me so i scream because they know how easily I scream!! Yeah, anyone got any tips??

    I dunno, thats never happened to me, quite the opposite I can't let out emotion verbally, but when I feel like if I speak I'll say something I don't want to I try chewing gum, or even biting my tounge, (not really hard though cause it bleeds and its nasty), something to do to remind you not to let it slip out. I don't know if that will help.

    Well I suppose that is not the worst problem to have certainly, and maybe it is just a health way of getting out emotions. Ummm if it really worries you talk to a pro, but it doesn't sound like too big of a problem and maybe it will just fade with time. Sorry, that's all I got/ Love ya baby!

    Try grabbing a pillow.. scream into the pillow and then again. Do this when you are just in your room or something, that way, you don't around everyone else.

    yeh like soul rebel said... I do psychology and we learn about people who have learnt through association.

    And yeh tis called conditioning... either classical or operant.. wont confuse you though.

    My tips would be to do try and keep calm and tell yourself all the time not to scream... if you feel the need to...take breathes and calm down. I do the whole breathe in breathe out thing cos i have reeeeeal bad panic attacks like all the time. It sounds silly telling yourself to breathe.. but it works

    Hmmm i hope your okies... but if you feel you are getting worse or whateva.. maybe ask a parent or teacher *shrugs*
