Yeah I know what you mean Malfist, I use "lol" now and again, but words such as frnd or bst just irritate me! Is it really that difficult to press those 3 extra letters? It's so much easier to read and understand!

You spelt grammar wrong, it seems.

Some people probably have limited internet time and need to say a lot in as little time as possible, others just don't want to bother.

    Nothing to get depressed about.

It does take longer if your typing with one fingure, but that really shouldn't stop people from typing the whole word out. I remember reading in the forum rules of a different site that you had to type out the entire word, because not everyone's first language was english, and people were learning through the forum. It really bugs me to see a lot of 'i rlly ned 2 go nw, cu l8ter!' In the time it took that person to perfect their netspeak they could have become great fast typers, ones who can type out the entire word. And with teens, all the netspeak carrys over to school, you'll get a C instead of a B because you used 2 instead of too.

I don't notice it as much as you Malfist, but it still bothers me.

It annoys me to no end. I can't stand it when someone, who speaks English as a first language, does it injustice by not taking a few extra moments to type in a few extra letters. Also, I can't begin to comprehend how so many people are still using the wrong form of words, when, English is their first language. For example, confusing There, with Their, with They're. I believe most people are tought that at about grade one or two. So pathetic.

if it annoys you doesn't it annoy you how some people use names on forums or games that don't even make sense?? personally i don't think its too bad... atleast to some extent... i do agree that sometimes some people make things so difficult to read when people tYpE lIkE tHiS or use like.. supposively 'gangster talk'? but i think a little bit of slang doesn't hurt too much...

and really.. if you put it that way.. what if english isn't their first language? are you perfect? i'm sure you made a grammar mistake before! but really... learning english to an extent where i can communicate with most people took a long time, about 5 or 6 years actually, and my writing is still quite bad... but either way... i think you shouldn't criticize people just because they can't spell or use grammer correctly all the time, it would just be like me criticizing you because you don't understand japanese, cantonese, mandarin, or spanish...

'wrong form of words'... ever heard of.. dialects? it may seem wrong to you, but somewhere else it may be perfectly fine in their dialect...

oh yes.. and theres such things as 'typos'

x.x you know whats weird... theres a lot of spelling mistakes in your post x.x... i don't think whether a word is typed with missing 2 or 3 letters has that much of a difference in the speed to interpret it... i mean... its just something we get used to, kind of like how we get used to "could've" is the same thing as "could have"?

yes its a bit informal, but the actual amount of work or writing we need to finish as a formal document really isn't that high... i don't see a problem with looking for short cuts for words or less formal ways to express ourselves as long as we know how to properly write a formal document when we need to
