Hey, I just want to know if this is from a song or poem you guys have ever heard of?

The electric hum of my monitor fills the silence of my room like a thousand pin drops on the head of a rusty silver spoon. I lay on my bed letting the absence of light dance around the edges of my vision, forming picture perfect nightmares that make me crave religion. I turn and stare at a candle that's burning on the floor, I watch it's fire flicker, casting shadows on my door. I close my eyes so that darkness comes, and quickly chokes the light. The nightmares fade and for once, everything's alright...
