Letting Go

Ok when i was 7 i moved and my best firend was 4 years older than me and said we'd be best friends forever... (i only moved 15 min away) so to make a long story short i saw her for the first time in 5 years and she totally ingnored me tht was last year.. ppl keep telling me to let go but they dont understand how hard it is..... ive tried to but i cant can some one help?.......... thnx
