Just wanting to see what people think of this situation.

Let's say that a person had to choose a method of therapy 1. Drugs 2. Group therapy for people who self harm or 3. Talking therapy.

The problems are that 1 is drugs, and this person doesn't like taking drugs.
2 is intimidating because this person hates being around people, they are very shy and quiet, and nervous of people. They are also trying to quit cutting on their own, so this might seem like admitting they haven't managed to do so. It is only a symptom of this persons problem, so should they try to fix the symptoms one by one, or try to resolve the underlying problem they have?
3 may take and infinite amount of time to get an appointment.

    What do you think?

Thanks for the advice, but I don't know how long it will take to get an appointment...I don't how long I can afford to wait...
    Just indecisive.

I have been to therapy before, I got used to it, and now I don't know how I will cope with going to somewhere new, or having to wait a long time for an appointment. I tried the journal thing, but I got too paranoid.

Kinda long story, I didn't really mean to let everyone see this, maybe I shouldn't have said anything. I don't know, maybe I could arrange it somehow so that I can go back.

Ditto on the paranoia. Ever seen that movie Harriet the Spy? Just a repeatable scene from my past.

I'd say therapy, definitely, but the group thing always helped me too. And don't knock drugs. Drugs are okay when legal & in moderation.

    Thank you.
There are advantages and disadvantages to each, which will all be taken into consideration.
It's interesting to see peoples opinions, it's very helpful.

I'm so sorry. I should not have said anything. Forgive me for mentioning it.
I share your opinion though. Cutting is the most stupid, pointless, waste of time.
Perhaps you are right and suicide is the better option, but I don't feel it is my place to say.
I respect your opinion, thank you for sharing it with me.
However, I did not intend this to become yet another tiresome debate about cutting, because that isn't the issue here. I was interested to see peoples opinions on which method of therapy they would choose.

Yeah, I am straight edge, thanks.
If you are going to give advice please do your research. Modern drugs have advanced a lot and have fewer, milder side effects. I don't really appreciate the insinuation that I am psychotic, because I am not.
Forgive me if I decide not to take your advice.
