Hullo! Being that nobody seems to have responded yet, I'll be the first to say: Welcome to Poems and Quotes! :) - As for your question...

You are definately not alone in this. When I first came here, I was vocabulary stupid, and I still don't think I am that good, but I do notice myself improving alot. There are plenty of ways to improve vocabulary and any knowledge of writing. The most affective way I know of, is to read. (Or so I believe that, and stand strongly by my opinion in this situation) Reading other people's poetry (or perhaps just more books in general), allows you to find new words, experience other's styles and trigger plenty of emotions or pent up feelings - which, personally brings out the best of my creativity.

I don't really have any other ideas for learning more words and definitions; but I am positive that if you give it time and simply keep up with this site and your writing - improvement will come in its own time.

    Best of luck to you!

I've found it best not to limit yourself to certain adjectives. Be creative. You can use emotions or seasons to describe things. For example I described snow as innocence. Just know that the sky is the limit when it comes to descriptions.
