Writers Block...

I haven't been able to write a poem in forever. Sometimes I have all these feelings inside but when I try to write them down...I absolutely hate what I write. I used to be able to come up with stuff pretty easily but now...I just don't know. I want to write a poem...but right now it's just so hard.

Anyone else go through this? How did (or did you even) get over it? I want to write something new so bad.

It happens....I play some Pink Floyd and just close my eyes.....fifteen or twenty minutes into it and I can focus my thoughts enough to write.

maybe try writting in a different method.
it seems that from experience, the best way to write is to just let it flow.
    dont criticize yourself while writting,
be ready b.c inspiration comes unexpectedly.
some of the best things are written on napkins, paper lunch bags, notebook paper.....
    give it time...

Nothing more to be said here... Looks like I missed it. Practice makes perfect. Don't try and impress anyone, write for you no-one else. You don't even have to show anyone, just keep it to yourself if you really want :)

normally when i hit writer's block it's because of stress or the type of music i was listening to or if i have a cold or something.

the way i fit it is, just totally relax your body and mind and try to think of nothing, absolutly nothing.

read a lot of poems on the site, whether they are good or bad just keep your mind on poetry. maybe find a little inspirtation.

play a cd that you normally do that you know doesn't put you in writer's block. when ever i listen to phantom of the opera i hit writer's block for days, but if i just put in some cd like rap or country they come flowing out.

just try a couple of things like that. those are the thing thta work for me.

you could try just writing down your feelings, just randomly over the page not in any form of poem and then when you re-read it see if there are any phrases that would make a good poem or even a quote

Music, that really can help clear your mind, or insire it to write, so get your favorite cd, lay down on your bed, close your eyes, relax your mind and see what happens.

Sunny, I would go see someone about that teriyaki addiction of yours! *smile*
