    I Love It Simply
Because Poetry Is The Ultimate Release, And I Was Driven To Write Because Of Pain

When I first started writing back in high school it was because my two best friends wrote. We were all on the phone one night and I was griping cause they wrote such awesome poetry and I didn't think I could ever write anything at all poetically. So they decided we would all hang up and write a poem, then in 20 minutes we were to call each other back. So that was the beginning for me. I wrote all through high school, but after I graduated I quit writing.
I didn't start writing again until about 3 or 4 years later, when my husband left me. Luckily, I haven't lost the passion for writing like I did in the past.

I write to understand what I'm talking about, paradoxically so..

i write because if i dont then the poem just sits there in my head and becomes worthless and meaning less. when im upset the words just flow and come naturally. yha know? well it does and if i dont get it onto paper i think about the words.constantly.

I started writing as a freshman in college and it was for two reason: as a release and to get the girls....it was magic...

Now, I write as a release, as therapy and for the pure pleasure of putting something together that elicits a response from others....the comments and the emails (even the hate mail....because, I got a strong emotional response). I love to touch and move people with my poetry....and lets face it....what better medium to convey your deepest feelings!

When we were young my parents divorced leaving mom to take on three children. We were too poor to afford books, so in return mom made up bed time storied for us.

As we got older we made up our own and told them to eachother and to her. In my teen years mom worked alot of hours and graveyard shifts leaving me to take care of my sister and brother. I started making up more and more bedtime stories to tell them.

I found the stories and writing alot easier than trying to teach them math and science lol....

huh, I will have to say because it's the only way I can be myself. I can let me feeling free throughout paper and pencil. I guess to me is just a way to express my feelings and share them with the world. Hard question when you come to think of it.

I love poetry for its artful beauty, when well penned, for its ability to extol the soul to enwrap the mind, and enthrall the heart. I love poetry for it ability to bring out the beauty that words possess. I love poetry because it allows one to freely express but just not in any ordinary way but with artful flair. I write poetry for the chance to create something beautiful, artful, to expound on, extol, an exalt Beauty and Love, and as to what drove me to write poetry, simply, my amorous nature, my need to woo and win the hearts, of the fetching females which I fancied. When I discovered I had the artfully flair and necessary creative talent to write transfixing and eloquent, charming lines of verse, I took to it -- especially considering the fact that girls liked poetry. Writing, in general, was something I had an aptitude for and the ability to possibly do well, and I saw the chance to apply my skills to poetry and possibly win the favor of the girls around school. Before I really fell in love with the artful beauty and grace of poetry, what kept me writing poems without it having to be a class assignment or project was that well girls liked poetry and I liked girls. I love writing poetry now, for the chance it gives me to create something beautiful, entertaining, or profoundly interesting, back then it was for the opportunity to impress my classmates, more so over, the cute girls!!!

My first poems I didn't start writing until I was like 17, and none of it was about me, I didn't think I had lived anything that was poetical enough. That anyone else would care to hear about. Writing and publishing poetry have always gone somewhat hand in hand for me.

Now poetry is a waste of time for me...but it's also an outlet to evade violence. It is also probably feeding the violent thoughts, but...damn, red is pretty. And it helps people instead of hurting them.

The only reason why I choose to write poetry or even something as simple as a diary entry, is bcoz I feel this is the only way i can ever express myself best.....jst by using WORDS and turning it into a poem ;)

i vent for emotions i guess.. cept most of my poems aren't actually about me.. so i guess a vent for creativity too. and its something i love, and have loved ever since my first rhyme hit the page.
