Any Christians here?

Bob I would define christian just as you did...do you believe in God through Jesus Christ as your savior.
I don't believe you HAVE to go to church to have a personal relationship with Jesus. I know a lot of people that believe otherwise & I am fine with that. They are free to believe whatever they want to believe..who's to say who's right or wrong?

hi :) u kno, today in the library told me, "i didn't know you went to church on sundays!" and i told her, "saturdays..." lol.

:) i wish more people would act christian, including me. i haven't been to close to my religion this year because school has complicated it. i feel really bad b/c of that... but i'm trying to read the bible more, out of my own free will :)

i just wish more people would love god, or at least know he exists, and for those who don't (want to) know him, he will accept you if you ever want to know more about him... his love is endless.

    try 2 make time,
    Love, Rain (Just Rain)

I know you americans or where ever you are from are very religious but I have a question... have you ever wondered why there is soooo much misery in the world?
or why there is so many illness or hunger?
and don't tell me its how god wants it thats just saying becouse you don't know the answer... if there is a god why doesn't he help the poor?
I am christian but I don't believe there is a god...I believe in sience
so as long as none can prove there is a god there isn't one!!

I do believe in love and humanity so I believe only not in something no one knows what or who it is
you guys believe things someone tells you
I wonder if some man with a beard would say you can fly you would try it? but I understand..some things are just to hard to understand for humans maby not even suppost to be understood...
but that noone will ever know!!

I consider myself a christian. I haven't attended church in more years than I did, but to me church is irrelevent. I believe in God and it shows in all I say and do. Not that I'm perfect, but I believe in treating people with respect and love. I know alot of people who go to church, and it hasn't made them better people. And I don't sit in judgement of them. To each their own.

" have you ever wondered why there is soooo much misery in the world? or why there is so many illness or hunger?"

Well since Adam and Eve sinned, the whole world has good and evil, there can't be good without bad, and everything happens for a reason. Like this guy in my school got killed in a car accident, well obvioulsly the bad part is that he died and left so many people that cared about him, but the good part is that two people got saved because of his death. Now, two more people will go to heaven and will get to be reunited with him one day.

"I am christian but I don't believe there is a god"
How can you be a christian and not believe in God? Sorry that just confused me.

I don't believe the world was just created out of dust, there has to be somone/something greater than us that made everything, but you have to believe. We can't see wind right? but we know its there, because we believe it's there.

Sorry if this came across mean in anyway, I was just saying what I believe. I didn't mean to sound harsh.

I'm a huge fan of some of His teachings but I don't support organized religion. Dunno if that makes me a Christian or not.

  • Lovely Bones

No, that doesn't make you a Christian. What makes you a Christian is when you openly confess that Jesus is Lord, believe that He is the Son of God and that He did die on the cross for your sins, and you invite Him into your heart to be your personal Lord and Saviour. There is no way to Heaven except through Jesus Christ. Meaning, unless you do accept Him into your heart (like all said above) then you are not saved and cannot enter the Kingdom of Heaven. When you do, you are covered by the blood of Jesus, meaning He has forgiven all of your sins, meaning He has taken the blame. He layed down His life so that we don't have to. It doesn't make us perfect, we are still going to have sin in our lives, but when we realize it we can always go to Jesus and He will NEVER turn us away. He will always have mercy and forgive us no matter what. That's just one of the ways He proves His love for us.

I'm not so sure about the organized religion part. The Church is the Body and the Bride of Christ... so.. yeah I'm still learning about that part. lol. I don't know everything yet. I suspect it's going to be a long time before I do =)

Just had to get it off my chest..

And what a load of utter garbage it was. Demonination Christianity is what is destroying the whole concept of Christ's teachings.

I was wondering, is it a sin to study demons? I have been taken over at least once, after that I started to study demons. I killed more tan a few now.

I used to be Christian but i headed into a very rough patch where i questoned my faith and i found too many holes i did not like, so i am not anymore. One thought i would like to see someone answer...

Lets take a child growing up in India for example. The religion there is Hinduism (80% of the country... compared to America 78% christian just to set figures) Anyway, this child grows up in a family and culture focused on Hinduism and therefore believes in it.... does that mean they've had an equal oportunity to go to heaven as a child growing up in a christian family? I have found many people who are christian have a christian family, its the way they were brought up. Therefore that happens with other religions.

As a christian if someone came up to you and said, you should believe in Brahman, the hindu god would you do it? Of course not, so expecting someone who is hindu to become a christian by whatever means is not going to happen, that doesnt mean they've had a fair chance to know the 'true god' and therefore deserve to suffer eternal hell. Any god who thinks that is fair, is no god of mine.

So if the bible says that you have to give your life to jesus, but also that everyone will get a fair chance... how can that be justified?

  • Lovely Bones

I'm kind of confused at what you just said.

"As a christian if someone came up to you and said, you should believe in Brahman, the hindu god would you do it?"

^^ I didn't say you HAD to believe in God or shove it down your throat.

Ed asked if a certain something made him a Christian, and I just said no. I didn't mean to offend anybody. I was just saying what does make you a Christian.

  • Lovely Bones

"Demonination Christianity" ? What exactly does that mean? I'm not good on a whole lot of 'terminology' I guess you could call it =)

Something that has to do with denominations, I get that much lol

  • Monica93

the way i was taught was that even if they don't know any other religion except what they know and it is not Christian they don't go to heaven. it took our youth group a long time to get over that stump.......... like a half a year because we didn't believe that they would go to hell for something they didn't know about, but our paster showed us scripture stating that very thing. I still have problems knowing that people can go to hell for believing in what they grew up knowing. hard to believe huh?

  • Monica93

but how do we know that Christianity is the way to go......... its like a hindu saying their religion is the way to go and a chrisian saying that their way is the way to go but how do we really know which way is the right way? the way i think about it is believe in what you want to. Everyone judges every religion not just yours. so believe what you want to. i mean i have non believer friends, hindus and all others and we all get along no matter what so it shows that we can all get along without believing the same thing as your friend.

  • BrokenMisery

Sorry i didn't aim it at anyone in particular Lovely bones :)

Monica, thats the whole point. These people believe a religion because it was taught to them, they grew up in that religion, how can that make them evil or deserve eternal punishment?

I know what you guys are saying. Thanks BrokenMisery =)

I find it sad that some people don't know anything about God. But I believe that that is our job as Christians to tell people about Jesus. The Bible says that.. I forget the verse.. it's in Matthew I believe.. but anyways. Even if they don't choose to believe it then at least they've heard the Gospel. All we can do is tell, beyond that there's basically nothing we can do but pray.
