I tend to write when I am feeling overwhelmed and need an outlet, it doesn't matter what type of situation, I have found that all situations can become overwhelming, whether it is sad, happy, love, or what.. and everyone needs an outlet, this is mine, writing and just keep writing. |

I write for a bunch of reasons. The most obvious is it helps me connect with others. Also to express myself, keep me out of bordem, communicate my idea, and just because I have fun doing it. |

I write for alot of different reasons. It's a cool, fun hobby now, but when I first started, it was to vent my feelings. It was theraputic. It still is at times. I'm a very creative and imaginative person, and poetry is a good way to flex those creative muscles. Feedback from other poets is also a plus. Good or bad reviews always make my day :) |

I write poetry as an attempt to finally get others to understamd how I feel(although they still dont' get it!) and to try and understand the world, sometime I don't even know why I am writing something because I just go and type how I feel into a poem |

If you told me 3 months ago that I would be able to write poetry, I would've laughed my head off! To me I didnt chose to write poetry, writting poetry came to me. When I am in a deep emotional situation (happiness, sadness, greif, depression) words are automatically created. I try to improve my writting by...um.... well... writing! But the best poems I write are when I am in a deep emotional state or I just absorbed a realization about myself or life or something like that. And the best thing about writing poetry is that it makes you swim in a world you can't exit until you finnish writing it. And the best reward is when you know you did a good job by simply shaping your emotions into letters. |

In real life I can't express my real feelings vocally to others...poetry is how I get it out. It heals the pangs and hardships in life...FOR ME anyway. I've gotten to the point now where I can write something down and share it with others. At first I wrote and kept it secret from everyone. Besides totally enjoying it, it has opened me up to many people and I've been able to share a different side of myself with the people I hold close to me. I love writing... |

Around here NO ONE writes poetry but it has helped me sooo much. Like some people on here I can't really express my words verbally because my thoughts get mixed up and it comes out wrong but when you give me a piece of paper I can explain exactly how i feel through poem or rhyme. I write because it helps me out with depression and is one of the few things I can say I'm good at. :) |

I write because it's my own form of creativity. No one else in my family writes poetry. well, ok, my dad does, but I write more then him, for he expresses himself in music. My sister expresses herself in comics. And the rest of my family...they're just wierd, lol. Is that answer good enough? |
