I totally and completely agree! 1/4 of the students (at least probably more) at my school are gay or bi so I know exactly where you're coming from. I am bi myself. Not allowing same sex couples is a very drastic step and should not be allowed. Props to your friend Brittany for fighting this! |

I guess because of my religious background i disagree with same sex marriages. I'm not discriminating, as i have nothing at all against gay or bi people, I guess I just see marriage as a man and a woman, and same as above, different sex marriage is in the bible and not otherwise. |

I don't think that anyone should be told who they are aloud to like. That's not right, and you can't help it anyway, ya know? You don't decide who you like. |

I've always supported same sex relationships. I think that's really stupid that they aren't allowed to get married. It is against my religion yes, but it's one of the things that I don't agree with. Love is love. Plain and simple. The only time that a line should be drawn, is when it's within the family, teacher and students...things like that. NOT same sex. |

It's stupid for them to ban same sex couples at a prom, it really is. However, I don't support same-sex marriages (but I'm not discrimintating, it's just my opinion) because of religious beliefs. Honestly, people should be able to be with anybody they choose to, but, like said above, i believe that the concept of marriage should be a bond between a man and a woman. But that's just what I think, and I'm not being discriminatory, so if i offended anyone, sorry! |

I personally don't support gay marriage and if you look at the root of marriage it has always been a man and a wife. And since you do get married in a church (christian church) the christian bible says that marriage is for a man and a women. Now if you have the balls (or are going to get them) to get a sex change from whatever you are to the opposite sex then be my guest but I do not support homosexual marriage. |

This is a subject that I have grown to feel very strongly about. Not since I met a man who lived with and married a man. I was never against gay people but after meeting them my views have changed a bit. I always thought it was weird that a man could love another man the way a woman does. However, in their house I saw they are no different. They do everything a "real" family does. They are two beautiful people following their hearts...they make each other happy...they have TRUE love and that's more than I can say for a lot of straight people. These are older men now...I went to one of their birthdays (50th to be exact) and they had their whole families there. The fact that both families accepted each one and they all joined in and had a blast was amazing to me. |

I agree that both heterosexual couples and homosexual couples can be as happy as the other but is it right? Marriage is supposed to be the bonding between a man and wife where they can settle down and have children. Can a gay couple have children? yes they can, but not the way that a man and a women can. There is no connection there between them where they are apart of the child. I'm not saying that they can't raise the child the same or feel the same about it, but you have to consider the saying "blood is thicker then water." |

^ how is that comment not meant to offend? not having a go at you but like, not all "bible huggers" are..well..forcing religion in your face. I'm a as you say "bible hugger" and yes i'm not all wooo about gay marriages, and i'm NOT discriminating, but thats just my personal opinion and because of my "bible hugging" beliefs. You're being prejudice towards "bible huggers" yet you're having a go at people who aren't all for gay marriage. I'm not having a go at you, i just think its fairly hypocritical of you.. |

natalie, my mom will have nothing to do with me either and hasn't had anything to do with me for the past 4 years so I can relate there. I don't give a damn if she kills over "but" I'm sure you feel a gap from not having your real parent there. For having a replacment instead of the real thing even if the replacment has done a better job then the original. |

Actually, I saw my dad when I was 15 and I was away from home for two weeks...I couldn't WAIT to get back home...to be with my DAD and my mom. He wasn't my cup of tea...he was never there...there is no cap...though I was sad because I was daddy's little girl when I was young I got over it. My step dad is my father...plain and simple. |

yes it does say that and that's why they have amendments where people vote whether or not to make it legal to have gay marriage. The last time which wasn't that long ago turned out gay marriage still not legal. If there are, and I know there is, so many homosexuals out there that want to get married either soon or in the distant future why don't they form a march or something? The blacks did it. The women did it. Why don't the gays do it? |

But why should it be someone elses choice in the first place? If someone wants to marry someone else, LET THEM MARRY EACHOTHER. |
David Paul

I don't see why people are still arguing on here with me about this stuff. If your so bent on your opinion why don't you go out and try and change it? You say there have been marches well obviously not nearly as big or as convincing as the others have been. Look the reason gay marriage is still not legal is because not very many people in this country vote. We have a right to vote that most people in other country's don't have and more then half of our country chooses not to use it. We feel like our vote doesn't count but if you get all those people who say that there vote doesnt' count you could change the world. Not get off your butt, turn off the computer, and change our lives. kk? |

BUt DOESNT it say in the COnstition or "something" that marriage is a bond between a man and a women...hmm? doesnt it? u could love a hamster but can u marry it..nope not in the US cuz its not constitional. And the government never once says who u can and cannot love..the government simply follows the very constition that gives YOU ur FREEDOM the very freedom that u are using right now in giving ur opinon..Religon may b one reason but the constition is another . If we "modify" one law it will soon become normal for our government to modify the other laws like its ok for things such as rape and marrying within ur family...dont say those are two complelty diffrent subjects..they may b but i'm right. we modify one thing other ppl are gunna come along and say "u let them marry their lover how come i cant marry mine even if he is my brother i love him..." |
Alexis

It says not to mix church and state and what that means is that the Government cannot control the church and what the chruch does. It doesnt have anythign to do with the constition making marriage among homosexuals legal....read the constition before u asume what it says...and as u read it remember the MORALS that this country was founded on . It was founded on christian morals which have become so scarce today....take a few min. and try reading what give u ur freedom |

It may say that your not supposed to mux church and state but you also have to consider that the constitution does say gay marriage is illegal. I'm not saying it to be mean. It's the truth. It's illegal. Now as I said earlier if you wanna make a difference go do something about it instead of talking about it and getting mad at me for saying that I don't agree with it. I can't vote either so you don't have to worry about me putting one against it. |

Hmmm I don't really have an opinion here... but i have several gay friends and personaly i don't think they're THAT gay! I think that the world we live in is so custumary to gays that some people after haveing horrible relationships with the opposite sex begin to think..... Hey why not go for the same sex? I don't really think that most of the gays in the world were born gay but eventually just told themselves that they were... Maybe a guy is so girlish that growing up he always played with the girls and did girl things and than WHAM! He thinks he's gay! Idk if this makes sence to alot of people but I'm in love with a friend who is gay and he was one that was walked all over by girls and now wants to try guys.... I'm not saying this is with all gays but alot of them that i know really aren't as gay as they have made themselves think they are... Again this is just my opinion... I like the idea that your standing up for what you belive it... For those select few gays that actually ARE gay and not half the world that THINKS they're gay... in reality you can fall in love with anyone you really want to... girl or boy. |
