Mental Illness???

I think I might have some kind of mental illness......not sure what and I don't think it's just regular depression.
It has alot to do with hearing "voices" and I'm not sure if everyone does or not. I barely sleep. I isolate everyone and push them away if I think they are becoming too close. I space out really bad up to 5 min. and if people try talking to me half the time I don't realize it. I have a real hard time communicating with others and I get extremly absorbed (almost like in a trance) when I am painting or drawing which I'm always doing. The voices most of the time I drown out by playing my cd player really loud but it doesn't always work. Within seconds I can go from being really social to sitting down and shuting everyone else out.

Is there something wrong with me or is this all normal??

Sorry..I was bored. Umm, basically what I said, is that I don't know whats going on and I think you should see a doctor.

Umm...see a doctor and try to find out what is wrong?

That's my opinion. This isn't the place to find out if that is normal or not. Lol. I would tell your doctor.

I think I'll just going on ignoring it........because I don't want more people to think I'm crazy

Sounds like you might be hallucatinating---if hearing voices... but on the otherhand, it sounds like you have autism tendencies--which is what I have. It's a social disorder somewhat...where you space out a lot, one moment, you're social, and another moment, withdrawn.

    hope this helps.

Ps... Research Asperger Syndrome or Higher-Functioning Autism... it might help you understand yourself better.

I don't think you are crazy.... although, I have three family members, in which are Schizophrenia, so I understand what you are going through...you could have Schizophrenia--if hearing voices, hallucinating, so forth...and you could have autism... or even both, but I'm not a doctor or psychologist yet, so I can't say what you have... ya know?

I don't think that what you are experiencing is in any way "abnormal" however, if it is bothering you then you should probably try to find out more. Maybe you could talk to a counsellor or a doctor that you feel comfortable talking to?
This is just my advice, and in the end it is your decision what you finally choose to do, however if this is getting in the way of the life you want to lead, then it is, in my experience best to find out what is going on. If it is a mental illness there is nothing to be ashamed of. I hope that you manage to sort this out, I know it's not easy when you don't understand.

Well, I get that sometimes, but not really that extreme. I think it's not abnormal, but if it makes u uncomfortable, then you should talk to someone. There's no such thing as a stupid question.

I would see a doctor just to make sure things are alright. I mean, there are a billion things online you could fit yourself into that could make it seem like you are an insane nut job, so better let the professionals do their job. I had most of the symotoms of the Borderline personality disorder for a long time, but I was told I didn't have it by the conselor people, so go ask them and let them do their job. We are not trained so you shouldn't let others diegnose (sp) you.

yeah, go see a doctor, though I also agree that it sounds like autism. I know several of my friends with aspergers. and I know of some autistic people.

but don't look online or try to research anything yourself. you'll only confuse yourself more. only a doctor can properly identify your disorder. and even their advice is relative.

second and third opinions are sometimes helpful. I hate doctors, but I don't mind when they know what they're talking about. hope you find a good one!
