How about a different voting way

Is there anything that can be done so that anyone (but the author) that reads a poem has to vote? Not so much as for leaving a comment, just a vote.

    Why?

    The voting system in here...Sucks.

Here the worst poet is favoured and the best poet is left dry. So you saying you need a new voting system implies that you want to be at top, rather than have your poetry improved.

Votes do didily-squat, it is the critique that is useful. If you are concerned about numbers then go ahead and give your self 20,000.

This is such an old issue like a old recoding that repeats itself again and again. The system is abused too much.

I always wondered how didily-squat was spelled :)

I don't think that voting should be made a requirement.
Personally, I hardly ever vote at all. Unless I read a poem that has been wrongfully down voted, then I will.
In agreement with Steven, the critique is much better than the vote.

It's just a question. I for one don't consider myself all that good of a poet so for me the votes do give some idea of how good the poem could be. It takes less time to vote than to make a comment.

    Ha....

How good a poem is by voting alone.

This is reality Scott, and jealousy is a big part in reality....Understand.

Honest constructive critique [not the ignorant abusive ones that say nothing at all like *this poem s**ks*) on what the reader understands from the poem, the structure, flow, and diction is always valuable.

A vote says nothing and you can gain nothing from a vote except a number.

Holly, I think that is how didily-squat (sp) is spelt, LOL.

The voting system should not be taken seriously at all!

personally I don't mind the system of voting, except some person will just give me a bad vote, I don't mind if people do that as long as they tell my why they gave me that. That way I know where the deuce I'm going wrong in the poems and can rectify the mistakes.
