new problem that just came to surface

My friend cuts herself. And she just told me. And she's planning on doing it again. Bacuse she thinks it does something for you. But I've done it before and so I know know it doesn't do anything for you. How can I get her to stop?

You cant make your friend stop...but you can help her stop. Just be there for her and tell her your story and tell her that it doesnt do anything for you.

I am a cutter, And i know this might sound harsh, But nothing you say to her will make her stop. It could, But i mean, Nothing my friends tell me make me stop, Its something she has to decide to do on your own, But try n hang in there, I know this is hurting you alot..

i know it's not easy and i know it's like addiction that u think u can't stop... but i think she needs professional help ....

honestly.. open up to her and tell her how you used to cut... she'll be upset that you'd do that to herself. tell her you've been where she is and you want her to stop because it honestly doesnt help. tell her you'll be there for her every step of the way and how much it hurts to know shes doing this to herself.

Be very specific and graphic about your own story, all the gory details, tell her everything. Cuting's a big deal hunni, so let her know that okay, let her know that! I just found out the same thing about my friend hunni, so I wish us both the best of luck in helping them see that cutting isn't good. *hugs*
