Why dont poets rate other poet's poetry???

I was noticing when I looked through some poetry on this site and no one seems to rate or comment on other pople's poetry. If you are in the mood to make someone's day pick a random poem on here and commment or rate them. That is my challenge to all y'all

I tend to review and rate the ones that stick out. I did review some today and found one with no rating that I just had to rate.

Listen, posting a topic like this will only piss off people, so no more of these. I do rate and comment, but you have to wait for other people to comment yours, the more you comment others, the more people will comment and rate yours. *sigh* just be patient, or go to poetry request, and post there.

Jealousy and Envy are common factors.

I agree that jealousy and envy contribute but i think it's mainly cause we dont feel like reading all of the poem or that we're just to lazy to vote, comment, or read it all

i think it really doesnt matter people will hate and love your poems , most poets write about their own experiences doesnt really matter what someone thinks about what you have to say, everything you post is real and if people love it then even better..

I only rate and commend when I like a poem. Cause it's not so nice to tell someone I didn't like the poem or vote a 3 or lower..

I agree with you, don't comment if you have nothing nice to say, but a calm, but suttle comment with a suggession is always nice. i take them, and use them, some freindly criticism is always usful, as long as it isn't to harsh.

The biggest reason of this question is lethargy! Poets think why should we waste time in voting and commenting on others work when others dont have time to rate ours. This leads to jealousy, anger, etc. I think if we step ahead to rate someone's poem then they too would take out some of their precious time to rate ours. Bottomline: Wanna get voted? Take the initiative to vote and comment others poems

i dont mind so much, but i just hate when i put out a rate AND comment deal and most of the time only get commnts. Im not askin for someone just to say good job 5/5. If they really like my poem, then id really like for them to prove it and give me a good rating. I mean, as much as Id hate to pressure people to vote, and then have them give me low ratings, at least id know how they really felt, though i would be pretty upset if someone said "great work" or whatever then gave me a 2 or something. I mean I understand people dont want to give everyone elce good ratings cuz they want their stuff to have the best ratings, but really, if youre that childish, I dont think you should be on a site like this.... thats just my opinion though.

i personally rate every poem that attracts me, if i see something that i think is good, then i tell them, because i think of it as if it were me. if i were to have written something good, i would like recognition. and if i see a poem thats ok, i dont comment, and if i see one that is just plain bad, im sorry, but i give it a low score. [ive only done that once] but yeah, comments and ratings are great, i just wish other poeple would return the favor to me!

Ratings are rather arbitary, whereas comments actually allow the poet to know what his readers feel about the write. A rating is just a number, a comments shows the feelings and thoughts of the reader after reading a poem, this is far more important.

i normally try and rate, but my computer isn't really that good, so it doesn't really let me. but sometimes, i just go around looking for poems to comment and rate on.

I tend to comment on the poems I really like or if I know how to make it sound better. and whenever I comment on poems I take the five seconds out to vote on it.. cause I hate ppl that say "awsome 5/5" but dont actually vote on the poem.
