LMAO. OMG, do you even CARE what people over a TEXT message say?! I hardly care what people over the NORMAL phone say..GOD DAMN.

  • The Wingless

Not a very easy situation to deal with? It's called shut the phone off.

And personally, I don't even think 12 year olds should be text messaging random people, or even have a cell-phone to begin with.

Maybe I'm just insanse, and the whole world should plot to kill me though.

  • The Wingless

Ok. I will do that, haha.

Britt, you may think it's that easy but some people just go through so much in life and can't handle anything.. and it all gets too hard for them and suicide is the only option.

Mark I suggest you don't lecture Britt.

I think she knows what she is doing....

Ok. Here is what makes it sad:
    the girl was 12
The bullies were probably some fat tards
Parents gave a 12 year old a cellphone
The girl text messaged random people
    The girl recieved them back
The girl didn't like the text message
    The girl killed herself
    Over a text message

    BLAH. Sad...sad...sad....

she killed herself over a text message?
hmm... wouldn't it be easier to just block the number? or idk not be upset by what strangers are saying to you? and i agree with the wingless. she's 12 she shouldn't even have a cell phone.

  • Stabbylou

    Agreed.

Whilst suicide is nothing to condone under any circumstances, I believe that over some text messages it is especially silly. Everyone faces negativity, but this kind in particular is controllable... Get a new number, block the senders number, ignore the damn messages in the first place...

Perhaps I'm insensitive, oh well, tra la la.

I agree with britt... But then again I don't think any of us could really decide whether it was right or wrong. We're thinking in terms of ourselves.... and when we think about killing ourselves it usually sounds like the wrong way to go, but I guess not for everyone. That might now have been the only reason and even though it may seem stupid to us. It may have been a big deal for a girl so young. None of us were in her position... Maybe there was more to the story than was told. Killing one's self is never the right way to go.... but I don't think we have the right to go around saying what she should have done in this situation. She was faced with it and she was young.....

    shoulda cussed em out...

im 12 and my cells got sent to asia :(

but cells r horribly addicting. some of my friends get predators on their txts but they dont care.

still, txt messaging can be solved my putting away your phone for life...

  • xMODEL

Yeah, suicide may not have been her only option. But, I myself know PERSONALLY what it's like. Not txt messaging though, I don't have a cellphone. It's really hard to deal with though, things like that get to you after a while. I've wanted to give up so many times.. hell I want to now - Because someone I know died..... he posted in this thread. Gah, I still can't stop crying. REST IN PEACE MICHAEL(the wingless)

Anyways, back on topic. Some people just don't know what else to do. Hell, you have no idea if it was the first time.. or the only person doing it to her. Some people just can't deal as well. And Brit, it really is no laughing matter. What if you were the one who was sending her the txt messages, would you feel the same? What if you were her, and felt the same as she did. You wouldn't be laughing then, would you?

I don't think it is the actual text messages that people get depressed over I think it has more to do with intimidation and feeling like somebody is going out of their way to make you feel bad...

  • VYXSIN

thank you ^^^^ someone hu actually understands

  • lindzy

no i havent but if some is doing it tell them to grow up threatening ppl over a phone is not scaring anyone it is just immature and pointless and really only makes the person sending it feel like a big person which they are obviously not.

i dont know if yall agree with this, but i say that if anybody ever bullies me, wether by phone, tv, text, moies, NETHING then it would probably be better to handle it face to face, or just talk to them. but im also 6 foot 230 lbs, so i havent been in that situation in a while.

Text bullying is great...its evidence hard written evidence. If its bothering you greatly and your feeling threatened or at risk... seriously you have the evidence to take it to the police and do something about it...if not do as suggested by others and change your number. Whatever you do don't retaliate, you can ignore it too because they'll eventually get very very bored and start harassing someone who will retailiate to their taunts.

And think of the money they are wasting on you ...he he he idiots LMAO

It's sad yes.... indeed. But her parents first mistake was giving their obviously VERY immature child a cell phone. Why in the hell would you randomly text people. I mean I don't even think I would even do that if I was acid tripping... I actually don't think I could type words while acid tripping... anyways, the girl had a lot going on I'm sure and the text probably reassured what she was already thinking in her mind.

Oh my..You guys..The girl was TWELVE..she wasn't all that mature in the first place. I agree, giving her the cell phone was wrong in the first place. Too young...But you guys have to put yourself in HER shoes. This is NOT a laughing matter. What if you were the PARENT of this child?? Would you be laughing. I don't think so! I atleast hope not. Any form of bullying is bad. This girl just happened to be bullied over the phone. And she took it very serious and got scared and upset and that led to her suicide. This is NOTHING to laugh about. What if this little girl was your cousin, niece, sister..You would be very upset with the person who was sending the girl the messages. You wouldn't be sitting here, laughing at this thread!!!!!! It is a serious matter...
