What do you think has and have greater influence. Family or Society.

Not every family would be there, there are some that shun their family members.

*thinks*.. Erm.. Well.. Both have a lot of influence. But I think society has greater influence.

Sadly society... but not always, actually for those with pretty strong personalities, they will not be influenced by neither the family nor society and will find their own path... but sadly society influences a lot of things. even when parents try to protect their children, society will still find a way to influence them

There is really only one answer.

    Society.

And that is simply because it is society that has made the family unit what it is today, and not the other way around. Advertising, religion, laws, all the tools of the superstructure of society effect the way each and every family functions, if that is they follow social norms.

When it suits the rulers of society to have a family unit that is different, for example women working during the first and second world wars...in comes the advertising and legislation to back it up..and hey presto...a new family unit.

    Rather disgusting really.

society influences you family and yourself at the sametime. therefore, society is what governs everyone that is alive.

Society...at a certain age you kind of...disconnect..from your family, and sort of..lose the relationships you had with them when you were, say, a todler.

Perhaps my family raised me differently but I've never paid attention to society when I was a kid, with the exception of Sailor Moon and Power Rangers and even now I look at society as something sad, not something I want to be a part of. My family instilled the values within me and Ive never felt the need to fit in or do what society does, but then I am an odd bird living in a rural place :)

I agree though, society has sadly corrupted the youth.

    Kim,

you family was able to instill those valies in you because they in turn had learned them through a process called socialization, which doesn't have to happen in big cities. It takes only two people or more for the magic to begin.

So you are just as effected by society as anyone else.
