Adult???

I found this subject quite interesting. But I would like to know your opinion on it.

When is a child considered as an adult?

Quite frankly, in certain countries the legal age of an adult is 8. While in America it is 18, but are they truly considered adults.

And to gain that experiance, they have to see the world and absorb it. And from what I see from today's youth.

I highly doubt it.

I think someone is an adult when he or she can take care of her(him) self.

But there are some exceptions.

Like people that are too sick to take care of there own (handicapped or such) And etc. etc

An adult is defined as some one who is mature enough to take responsibility of their own selves without the aid of parental or guardian figures. once you are able to take the step of being independent, on your own, and have enough experience, enough being you won't fall into what is called "dumb mistakes" then congratualtions, you are an adult.

Hmmm, I kinda agree with you on this one Ismail. Alot of people are very childish in this world. Even people who are considered adults. I guess your not a adult by how old you look, Or how old you are. Probably from how you deal with problems and things like that. For example. A guy goes to see a movie, Another guy trys to start a fight over nothing. A mature adult like person would probably just walk away from it. Instead of being stupid and fighting. Someone could get hurt pretty bad. So yeah..But i also think its based on alot of other things aswell. Probably too many to name.

you are an adult when you are no longer a child. i mean this in the mental state. you are an adult when your emotions no longer control you, when you realize there is a world outside of "i". when you grow up mentally.

arguably, some in this site havnt and may never grow up...

I believe your an adult... when you can look back and see how imature you were.

It's not the age that is a factor, it's maturity and responsibility

Age cannot be defined. A persons' age can only be told by how mature they are intellectually and how they can handle responsibilities as well as situations. You could be only 15 years old yet have the maturity of a 30 year old (vice versa). It all depends on how your mind develops, if you can see right from wrong.

Generally speaking, its known that kids from a very young ago are showing signs of maturity that many in their late teens now have very little of. Your mind works in wonders from being influenced by all those around you.

Just like ^^Andy said^^ One of the best ways to know that you have matured is to think back and know how immature you were. How you've changed, gained knowledge, and to admit when your wrong.

Well, everyone has their different opinions. It just so happens that that is that.

Adult as in legally, physically, emotionally, spiritually, psychologically?

It depends on the person, and in different countries there are different legal ages.
