Why I am not a Christian!

Here is a guy who shows an excerpt from a pamphlet, and frankly after reading it, I had a sense of overwhelming laughter and partial agreement.

I would like to hear your opinion on this matter:

Could you expand on this, I got to the site but the address you supplied led to a blank, and there was far too much to wade through...

after only reading up to and including the First Cause, i can tell that this will be an interesting read...when i get back from work, i shall continue reading and say what i think. open to much debate, so far tho, and if we get some thinkers in here, this could be good. however, i do not think this is the accual copy as there are some spelling and grammar mistakes..but htats just my thought..

^^ I'm with Bob on this one. While I am a Christian, I don't let religion consume me. I believe what I want to believe, religion will not tell me different. You could say that this is hypocritical, but that matters now... My beliefs are quite personal and I rarely share them with anyone.

Every third Sunday, a show called "It's my Life" which is a debate show, which usually discusses religion with the modern world. And it comes in ITV channel.

One thing that makes me angry is the berating of the Muslims in that show. I am someone who usually fights for the underdog of society, but I think the show and the Muslims in there were wrong.

The show was wrong, for expecting a bunch of scholars and early twenties yokels who are immersed in their religion to speak for the common community of Islamic religion.

But what I found peculiar is that (and British people help me on this) most of them are either Indian or Pakistani or Kashmiri. Frankly I find it hard for me to elect these self-elected Asian Muslims as my advocates or voice.

I find it hard, because quite frankly my family and any other Arabic and Turkish family don’t practice forced marriage and don’t practice customs and traditions set by the Asians.

That’s what turns me off Islamic and religion in its entirety. People elect themselves and make rules according to their set traditions, and prejudices.

But then again, we are living in a place where people accept or make certain norms to things that is confessed as abominable. Look at this site for one thing, we allow here fakers and reward them. But let’s look at the bigger picture rather the minute details. Correct!

If you believe in money, or food, or clothes, or yourself, that is your belief. That is your religion.

I can't follow any of the religions of this world because each professes to have the truth of right living... religion means to have faith in or communion with the gods/goddesses etc... so I guess Truest Lies you are right in that respect...

Ismail: I think you'll find that this has something to do with the connections that Britain once had through colonialism with India, Pakistan whereas since the crusades there has always been a stand off between Britain and the middle eastern countries...
I'm not sure I understand your accusation to this site allowing fakers and rewarding them...

I am not a christian in an organised sense because there is no body of believers who follw the word of christ, which is actually what the word christain implies... certainly non of the churches that I have ever visited do so...

I used to belong to a sufi order and therefore was a muslim, but really I find such indoctrination, whether from R/C, CofE or Muslim to be unacceptable. One only has to study the history of how the christains have backed wars, still do, which has nothing to do with faith...

If religion was depoliticised then maybe I might be tempted to rethink my position.

Personally I follow a 'shamnic' path, which has very little forced structure.

I am just saying Psymon, that we are living in an age where we are too lazy to produce a thing called Justice to this world, we are letting those who do misdeeds slip off.

That is what I said before...
