I have a point to make here, whilst I agree wholeheartedly with you guys about plagarism, you have to realise that there is far more music in the world these days than I will certainly ever get to hear... and there is a proven fact that two or three people in different locations on the planet can come up with similar ideas at the same time, without collaboration.
I have been writing songs/poems for years, decades even. In the eighties, to give one example, I wrote a poem called the power of love... three weeks later frankie goes to hollywood brought out a song with the same title and a few of the lines were almost identical. Jung (CJ) referred to this as the collective unconscious. So I would ask you to be wary of how you judge peoples work.
I guess if someone is consistant with copying etc that's cool, but what about the odd incidence of syncronicity?

Absolutely agree... I write from my heart, occasionally the head plays a role, but I do my best to steer clear of that one. LOL's

Surely it can be regarded as postmodern to juxtapose lines/lyrics/tunes/stanzas with that of one's own (as long as the real author is credited in someway). I quite like the parallel signifiers running through such art and it can add ambiguous depth and meaning. Hey oh.

    J Harrison:

Great point: 'Foe' is a brilliant example of postmodern fiction - we're aloud to go beyond the original meaning onto another level of signification.

Another example, on film, is the original Star wars.
The bombing sequence (luke Skywalkers) is taken directly from the Dambusters film (almost shot for shot and word for word) from the 1950s.

Reporting these so-called "poems" is fun. I remember when the Plagiarizer Police was around, and all we did was report these losers...

    Wait.

    Whatever happened to the PP?
