Your definition of love?

Hey guys and girls, quite a cheesy topic yes i know but just like to see what people think love is all about and what it means to them! Post ur thoughts! Thanks :)

Wanting to be with someone for the rest of your life. Putting them in front of yourself. Nothing matters as long as your with that person and you'd do anything to make the person happy even if it's not with you. Willing to compromise, talk, trust, etc. That person is the world to you and nothing is more important to you than that person. When I said "anything" I reallly meant anything. Even sacrifice your life so that person can live their life through. I agree with Bob. I'd feel so much better if I didn't have to care or love even though I'd miss out the good things.

Love is:

Forgetting everything when you're with the person you love

Hating yourself when they don't know you love them

Considering suicide, every second they're not by your side

LOL's Bob, very well put... Love for me is an energy that we allow to flow through us, from time to time we link with a fellow being who reflects that energy our way...
It's also allowing the one you 'love' to be themselves, of course if being themselves means stepping on your toes... perhaps the mirror has becoome dirty or even broken...

I think love is absolutly wonderful and no matter how much it hurts, I would never not want to know what it's like. It can hurt you more than anything but be the best thing you'll ever feel. Its hard to describe or explain. But when you're in love, you just know. You know what love it but no one can describe it that someone not in love can understand. I think another word that constitutes the definition of love for me is sacrifice, have kids you'll know what I mean. Its a love on a completely different level to what is shared with a partner, its unconditional and you never get the pleasure of experience such love until you have children of your own and then you realise its all about them, no longer you, you live a life for them, not for yourself, they become the air breath and reason you awake every morning ...sacrificing all your hopes and dreams so they can reach there own...

Loving is to give yourself completly and only, and for that to be returned.

Wow, Dani - when I read your answer . . I definately agree. Though in my perfect world - I wouldn't want to grow old with that person. I want to live a happy few years with them, and then sacrifice myself for them . . odd I know. But I would rather take a bullet for them, and die at 20 knowing they love me, than die at 80, with the risk of not being with them, if they died of old age or a disease before me.

ive never been in love i dont think, but a very good friend of mine has, i asked him about it a while ago and he said:

There is no great explanation to what love is just like there is no scientific meaning to life. Love... you just can't explain it.
