I personally despise labelling, I think that you should be judged on who you are, as a person, not by what clothes you wear, or who you hang out with, or what music you listen to, because at the end of the day it could all just be a mask anyway, and I get really pissed off when people try to judge me or take against me because of how I look because it's not fair |

I hate labels. They're so restrictive. No one is so one-dimensional to be able to be defined by any one thing (okay, maybe a few people). I get labeled a bunch of things. Nerd, geek, because I actually read a book once in awhile. I write music, poetry, some fiction. && I like to argue. A lot of people have been calling me emo lately, because, I don't know. I hate emo. I used to get called goth. because, again, I don't really know. Eyeliner..no way. && some people call me a prep..because I dress well, plain, because I'm poor. But I am not a conformist, nor do I ever want to be. |

I don't like labels, I don't see why we have to be labelled why can't we just be ourselves! I think it's mainly a high school thing, to split everyone into groups sort of depending on whether they are 'cool' or not maybe? |

Nah, it may be a 'highschool thing' but like most 'highschool' 'middle school' things, it happens in college too. It'd be nice to think people grow out of it, but, if anything people become more judgemental as they get older, but they judge you for all the same and different things. Very few of these opinions are ever voiced. Oh, except the proverbial.."Kids today..." Everyone, eventually, finds themselves saying this. |

I am a human being, that is the only real label I wear, everything else is foist upon me from other humans, who because of their own insecurities have to apply labels to justify what??? |

How soon is change gonna come around with the attitude 'nothing's gonna change'???? Huh? |

Psymon: Why are you crying for change, you and you alone can change the perception of what labelling is with how you present yourself. |

I agree with you. Why do people label you by your clothes, who you hang out with, etc. It's pathetic! I feel for you hun! I get picked on all the time. It's doesn't bother me as much as it use to. Now people just think I'm a psycho, which is fine with me b/c then people leave me alone. :) |

labelling is what it is. some labels consist of what you look like. [prep.goth.pretty.ugly.fat.skinny.ect.] |

Labeling is pathedic. There is not one word or phrase that can sum up an entire person. If you let people label you, or you label yourself, then that is all you will ever live up to. We often live up to the labels, so label yourself as the president of the U.S. and see what happens, lol. People don't fit into groups like that because they are all different. What people wear or how they talk doesn't make them one type of person or another. In honestly, there aren't types b/c no one is the same. LAter. |
