Cowardice?

I've thought about this for awhile:

Many people say that killing yourself is the coward's way out. But the thing is, it takes a great amount of bravery and strength to take your own life. A coward would never harm himself, he would do whatever he could to stay alive because he fears death.

So then, fear is what keeps us here, and also what makes us want to leave. Fear of the unknown vs. fear of the future. I agree, it takes a strong person to live, but killing yourself is not always an act of cowardice. It simply means that you saw one Fear to be less than the other, and acted upon that observation.

Hn. The "coward's way out"... It sounds so final and demeaning. I will be the first to admit that, to some extent, it is a cowardly way to run, but the notion of living a ghost of a life, pitying yourself and constantly wishing and dreaming that you had the strength to end it all, while cowering away from the inevitable passage of time, sickens me to a point of disgust.

If you don't have the strength to end it, then live your short gift/curse on this planet fully, milk your exhistance for all that it's worth...

Just don't wither away, drowning in self-sorrow until you might as well be dead to the world; as dead as you already are to yourself.

    So, Cowardice? Perhaps.
    Strength? Perhaps.
    Fear? Certainly.

    Your thoughts?

I think that's rubbish! It take a lot more courage to stay alive than to kill yourself. Check it out... pathetic...
If your going to kill yourself get on with it rather than moaning about it, cause quite frankly I find your argument totally boring...

Yeah it may take a bit of strength to kill yourself, but it takes a damn lot more to stay living. It's easy to run away from your problems, it's harder to stay and face them through.

"Many people say that killing yourself is the coward's way out. But the thing is, it takes a great amount of bravery and strength to take your own life. A coward would never harm himself, he would do whatever he could to stay alive because he fears death."

    Bull___.

A coward would do anything to hide away from their problems. It shows how desperate they are. Suicide is a physical escape from the disease that EVERYBODY has: Life.

" I agree, it takes a strong person to live, but killing yourself is not always an act of cowardice. It simply means that you saw one Fear to be less than the other, and acted upon that observation."

You're still a coward. Suicide is a form of fear in itself. It is an act of fear.

"Hn. The "coward's way out"... It sounds so final and demeaning. It IS final. It IS demeaning. Why should someone demean themselves with something as painful as suicide? It may sicken you, but "suicidal" people need to learn how to deal. If they learn how to deal without self-harm, then they are TRULY strong.

"If you don't have the strength to end it, then live your short gift/curse on this planet fully, milk your exhistance for all that it's worth..."

I will milk it, then butcher the cow and devour some damn good tasty steak.

"Just don't wither away, drowning in self-sorrow until you might as well be dead to the world; as dead as you already are to yourself."

I'd rather wither away slowly trying to fix myself than comdemn myself to a place where i know i can't.

    "So, Cowardice? Perhaps.
    Strength? Perhaps.
    Fear? Certainly."

    Cowardice? Yes.
    Strength? No.
    Fear: Of course.

    "Your thoughts?"
