All P & Q Challenge - Tempting Titles

THIS CHALLENGE CLOSED

I would like 12-15 people to sign up for this challenge, which is to write a poem from a title I will supply.

If there is enough interest to do this, I will contact you via email with your title and the challenge specifics.

*Note - those participating in this challege will judge each other.

OK, let’s see if I can do this easily. When sign ups are finished, I will post 3 or 4 titles depending on how many people we end up with and who will write for which title. (You each write your own poem.. it is not a team collaboration)

Email your poem to me via my profile. When the time limit has ended (one week after the titles are assigned) I will post all of the poems. Those who wrote for the same title will form a judging team and pick a winner for one of the other titles.

This can be any genre, correct?

correct, any genre

basically, the only rule is that you have to use the given title, and the poem has to fit it.

There is no length minimum or maximum
It can rhyme or not rhyme
It can be in a specific form if you want

The judges will be poets from the other groups and I will explain how that works when the contest is over.

this is a challenging title. my poem is almost done. i just have to revise it still... but i am wishing everyone good luck with what they recievd and i think this sounds like it's going to be really fun.

This is GREAT! I've received 3 poems so far.. and I'm REALLY glad I'm not judging this one!!!

I WILL be writing my own poems for these titles, too, just not including them for the judging.

(P.S. - When you post your poems after the contest, you MAY change the title if you want, but if a poem is submitted to me with a different title, I will just leave it off for this challenge... after all, it was a title challenge, not a subject/idea challenge)

Jacklyn, thanks for catching that. The reason I ask to not post them yet is if you haven't written your poem yet and read one, it might influence what you were going to write (like make you not able to think of anything besides what you read)

But if they are posted, so be it... those who haven't finished yet, just try not to read one of the same title you are doing.
