I believe that my fascination with the heart, soul, and mind began with my first love poem. I have learned through these discussions that now there are scientist taking an objective look at the mind as if the mind were nonexistent or at least not understood by the ancients. But science is only the observation of natural events and thus limited .It is quite obvious that many of the ancients perceived the mind heart and soul as important parts of the human essence. In the new testament Jesus summarizes the law of Moses or ten commandments into two great commandments 1st love God with all of your whole heart, whole soul, and whole mind 2nd love thy neighbor as thyself Subjectively our feelings are usually in conflict because it is natural for us to be egocentric. It is supernatural to be humble. I am only bringing this up because, as Bob pointed out, some intellectuals have a problem perceiving an immortal soul. |
