I've been raped and almost killed a couple of times, but writing poems about it releaves my stress. Sometimes, although, I don't know exactly what to write and it sounds like I'm new at this. Can someone help?

It feels bad to listen about the rape stuffs and it is worst experiencing it. You need to move on in life. I don't think you should only focus on your traumas while writing a touchy stuff. In fact I agree with Bob..... Healing is better.... Life is beautiful.

Let it flow. Let your emotions bring forth the words the best fit for the situation. I usually start with one word or sentence and then let it take control. You can touch it up afterwards.

The best thing to do is to make sure that you're not bottling your emotions up. I would if your strong enough try to think of what happened to you and add twists about it so its not too original, i mena just keep it real but add your own flava to it. That way no one will suspect you're new at it, also i suggest reading some other peeps rape poems, i have written sum and i havent had those kind of experiences. Some of mine are Another Round, Suicidal Romance, Sw33T Misery, and Your F***'d Up Barbie...check them out and I hope you find your style in this and dont worry weatehr peopel think you're new at it or not..just write as if you've always been writing about this kind of thing. I know peeps on this sit there open to new styles so play around with it and just be your self. *best of wishes*

pour it out.... i just wrote a rape story too....exept its never happened to me...read it and see if thats what it feels like...its called "He Said" but i would love to read something that you wrote thats true. that is awfull that that has happen to you and im sorry the only thing you could take advantage of in this situation is that you can use the pain and feelings you are feeling in your writing.... here for advise...

keep the talent. keep the faith. keep the ability to write beautifully.

...Writing and expressing rape like a badge of honor.

The funny thing is that it isn't honorable, it isn't something to be spoken of so freely.

Sure to bond with others is definetly a thing to do when it comes to such a subject, but may I just say that this is the most ridiculous thread I've ever seen.

I'VE BEEN RAPED AND ALMOST KILLED...yadda yadda.

If you use it for poetry then use it for just that, and to all of you- stop embarassing yourselves like this it's wrong.

You've been raped... ok that's a common story, make it an epic story now- make it an epic poem.

i dont understand how people can speak so freely...about osmething so horrible...Being raped is not something that should be spoken about freely...its okay to discuss with SOMe people but not with just everybody on the site..yes i write rape stories sometimes BUT its never happend to me ad id on't know if it ever did happen to me..if i would want ANYbodys sympathy..but i don;t know i guess that is just my way of thinking.

Hey gurl my mom was raped when she was 15. I just wanted to say as time goes on you get over it. i would talk to people like friends or family about it. cause my mom didnt and i just think that if she would have talked to someone maybe she wouldnt have been so scared and felt so alone.

rape fucking sucks, and i think this is the perfect site to relieve yourself of all your pain, confusion, anger, etc. if you are writing about rape, it really does NOT matter how well you write, just put your feelings down on paper. go into details if you are comfortable. i am sorry to hear that you have been taken advantage of, and i really hope you don't let your awful experiences get in the way of your happiness because you are still the same person you have always been in your heart. i also hope you are getting the support you need. take care of yourself, jane

Rape Victim: OMG LIKE I'VE BEEN RAPED TOO *high fives you* we should be friends!

^This is how I percieve the supposed "rape victims" in our world, bunch of liars in need of a little attention. Attention is satisfying ya know? Getting it through telling a story about a man forcefully shoving himself into another is a perfect way to obtain that, along with sympathy, how pathetic eh?

There's been so many liars that during times like these there is no real way to know if someone really had been raped. But then again, who would really want to know such a thing about another person?

The thing is that if someone did get raped, they would build a better type of sense and perception over everything around them- the world changes when you do. So with that said, if there's a rape poem to read, it better be a damn good one that would almost literally place me in the exact location when it happened. Petty details like "I cried" or "told him to stop" is a common place phrase I've seen in most "rape poems". To be honest with all of you I haven't seen one that gave me a picture.

I'm not saying that I'm DYING to read about you getting raped, but if you're going to tell a story, then tell the god damn story with some sense of surroundings, environment, the smell, taste, touch and the sounds. Once you can get all or most of the senses into a poem, the reader will feel it fully.
And this doesn't even have to apply to rape poems, this applies to all subjects.

this is in regards to davids post:
i dont know if he meant it like that, but has he ever been raped? dont be so critical! Like every girl whos ever been molested is crying for attention, well i think that the ones who speak out and share their pain are courageous and not attention hogs. yea, pepl lie. name one internet user u know who doesn't lie about something on their profile on myspace or something, but he shouldnt trivialize rape. maybe he should have thought twice about using rape as such a petty example of better poetry. sry to rant, but other than that he made some pretty good points.
