Should Poems Used for Venting be Classed as Poems

Of course it's actual poetry. If it's attacking another author about somehting thne yes t is poetry... it's just not GOOD poetry. there's the difference see. Sometimes when people vent into a poem, it can make it absolutely fabulous because it's so meaningful and clear. it's usually deep and somehow you just know it's true. Those are real killers when you want something emotional to read.

A poem is a poem, no matter what the subject be. it is most def. NOT a vent, but a vent may be in the form of poetry. A vent (maybe anger or unsatisfaction) is an emotion, which is like, a big factor of writing poetry.

poetry is an emotion and/or image put into words.

    simple :)

definitions can be so plain... but our own definitions vary, so it's good to have different views ;) so yes, in your definition, poetry can be a rant, poetry can be anything. it all depends on who you are and your own definition.

I a poem is an expression of ones emotions.
A venting poem is just that and expression of ones emotions. However not all poems are vents. Vents are outlets to which ones build up emotions are released. When one holds a deep emotion such as sadness or pain for a long period of time it is necessary to vent those emotions to prevent one from damaging themselves further. They can do this through poetry or other means of writing.
