    And the answer to #3:

Take the chicken to the other side,
    Go back,
Pick up the fox and take that to the other side
Pick up the chicken and take it back
Pick up the seed and take that to the other side,
    Go back
Pick up the chicken and drop it off.

I'm guessing the answer to #1 will be some sort of electrical device? Hmm. I'll have to think about that one . . .

    1. A man was to be sentenced, and the judge told him, "You may make a statement. If it is true, I'll sentence you to four years in prison. If it is false, I'll sentence you to six years in prison." After the man made his statement, the judge decided to let him go free. What did the man say?

    2. You have a barrel of oil, and you need to measure out just one gallon. How do you do this if you only have a three-gallon container and a five-gallon container?

    3. What English word is nine letters long, and can remain an English word at each step as you remove one letter at a time, right down to a single letter. List the letter you remove each time and the words that result at each step.

To sole, the first one's a river.

Fill the 3 gallon, pour it into the 5 gallon, fill it up again, pour the 2 gallons left in the 5 gallon container, you will have 1 gallon left in the 3.

Is the answer to number one from Italian Stallion:

It is true that I will be sentenced to six years in prison.

  • Italian Stallion

    Kim that is correct.

Lauren that was really close, but this is the answer.

He said, "You'll sentence me to six years in prison." If it was true, then the judge would have to make it false by sentencing him to four years. If it was false, then he would have to give him six years, which would make it true. Rather than contradict his own word, the judge set the man free.

    Peace, Joe

    1.) Complete the last two in this sequence: 1=3, 2=3, 3=5, 4=4, 5=4, 6=3, 7=5, 8=5, 9=4, 10=3, 11=?, 12=?

2.) A man had twelve toothpicks in front of him. He took one away. Now he had nine in front of him. How is this possible?

    3.) Continue the series: o t t f f s s _ _ _

    ******************************************
And Joe, the word to your riddle is "STARTLING". By removing the "L" it turns into starting. Then when you remove the "T" the word is staring. And then...the rest of the changes are as follows: string-sting-sing-sin-in-and finally. I. (A friend told me this one before. Sorry. ♥ =P)

    ***NEW RIDDLES***

    1) Two men are served identical drinks at the bar. One lives, but the other dies. Why?

    2) A man runs along a hall with a piece of paper. When the lights flicker, he drops to his knees and begins to cry. Why?

    3) A woman lives on the tenth floor of an apartment building. Every morning she takes the elevator all the way down, and goes to work. In the evening, she gets into the elevator, and, if there is someone else in it she goes back to her floor directly. Otherwise, she goes to the seventh floor and walks up three flights of stairs to her apartment. Why?

    ***ANSWERS TO THE ABOVE***

    1) The solution for both is 6, because that is the number of letters in the name of the numbers.

    2) The remaining 11 toothpicks were arranged to spell the word NINE.

    3) E, N. T. They are the first letters of the numbers one through ten.

    Joe: #1 && #2
Poisoned ice cubes in the drinks: one man drinks slowly, giving them time to melt, but the other man drinks fast and doesn't get much of the poison.

He is running to deliver a pardon, and the flickering lights indicate the convict to be pardoned has just been electrocuted.

    LOL here's some easy ones:

A woman proves in court that her husband was murdered by her sister, but the judge decides that the sister cannot be punished. Why?

A man dies of dehydration in his own home. Why?

A woman is found hanging by her neck from the high ceiling in an otherwise empty locked room with a puddle of water under her feet. How did she kill herself?

In a strange circular house, filled with strange people, one of them murdered somebody. The FATHER said he was at work, the SON said he was with his friends, the MOTHER said she was doing dishes, and the MAID said she was cleaning in the corner. Who commited the crime?
