For whom do you write?

For whom do you write? In general, who is your targetted audience?

I myself try to target everyone of course, but mostly age 12-18.
I try to have an educational/ or life learned message in every piece.

Once I have the age group, and theme, I try to come up with an idea, which most likely will become my title.

If you see a poem without an educational message in my repertoire, that mean that I just sat one day an started typing away. That rarely works, but when it does it produces pretty good pieces.

How about you, for whom do you write?

In someway, shape, or form, people will be able to relate to Poetry regardless of age or sex. You may write a poem for Adults, But you never no, there are younger people that can still relate somehow. Young ones' can write something that is for the younger group of people, but Older people might be able to relate.

Therefore, I must say I write for everyone. :)

That is exactly what I am saying. Nonetheless it don't remove the fact that you wrote for a specific group.. a targetted audience?
As I stated, I write for everyone too, with a targetted audience in mind.
My poem "Faith Of A Child" was written with church going Christians in mind.. although I'm sure Athiest can appreciate it too.
While "Dying In The Corner" which deals about suicide, surely cannot be for church going Christians... although it can be ... maybe not. lol

I write so that my dad will read it and realize how much he has hurt me and my family. But other than that, its mostly suitable for everybody.

I think I write for myself, though I like people to read it and tell me what they think about it...I would like that someone else could relate with what I write and feel.

I write for myself, its that simple, no one elce.

if other people happen to like or can relate to it, than great, if not, it wasnt meant for that in the first place.........

I write for my Dad. Sure, I don't write ABOUT my dad, but I write to make him proud of me. He went to my profile, and read all the comments people have been giving me. He said people really seemed to like my work for a 12 year old, and said he was so proud of me. I love that.

it doesn't mater who you wrote to, but whether whoever reads it receives the message you're trying to relay a cross.

Like most people, I write for myself, but of course I wish to share what I write, to be praised etc.

If I had to think about a target audience, I'd say there isn't one...but only people like myself I feel ever really understand more than the words I use.

Seekers, Intelligent observant people, no arrogance intended.

I usually write for a friend named "Fun", for I find that the majority of times we get in contact, our paths cross. Yet, there is another that I write for, that special someone, though not to give to her in person, but in my mind
