A wee challenge.

So I'd like to offer up the challenge of writing a poem, which must be about some aspect of your behaviour which relates in a questioning manner to the larger society.

And you can't be direct about it....you must use what's called an "Objective correlative", by which I mean a medium to explain your thoughts which is not the subject matter of the poem.

So, if you write about paranoia, you might use the metaphor of an abstract painting seeming to be full of chaos. See my poem "No Contract" if you need an example.

Have fun. I'll leave this for a week or so to see if anyone is interested.

    Kevin.

I'm not quite sure if this works or not: http://www.poems-and-quotes.com/life/poems.php?id=670477

I wrote it just last week. Different people get different things from it, but it is definitely about a specific thing.

Is that what you are talking about, Kevin, or does the true meaning have to be see-able too?

Either way, I'll write a new one for this challenge, I just want to make sure I'm writing the right thing.

Yeah that's the kind of thing...I think I was a little to overbearing with the description of what the poem has to be....I just wanted people to think about the piece...about every sentence....metaphors tend towards this.

Go for it...as it stands you've won.

I actually just wrote another one, too. Although I think this one presents it's real meaning a little more clearly
