What inspires you?

Hi everyone im just curious as to what inspires you all to write as you do. For me well, its life all the complications, turmoils and happy times that life throws at me....no matter how im feeling i can flow it onto a page to make it something worth reading.....I even inspire myself by the words I have written but my biggest inspiration is when I read some really remarkable poems on the site...there are so many gifted people who write on the site. Let me know what inspires you.

1. Events in my life - Happy, sad, pain, grief, heartache, abuse...the list goes on.. I think I've written about pretty much everything I've ever experienced.

2. Events in the lives of those around me (which really is just a subpoint of #1 since they are in my life as well)

3. TV, Radio, etc. - I've gotten ideas from a line spoken by a TV chatacter, or a line in a song, etc.

4. Nature - it's amazing how many ideas can come from simply going somewhere away from town and people and just observing nature!

I've had to adapt myself to be able to draw inspiration from some of these things.. but it's an excellent writing builder!

Pain = Inspiration

Everything...Look around, you can turn anything into a poem...take life or what you experience in life...Nature...TV...computers...animals...achitecture...etc....everything somehow and someway, can turn into a nicely written poem...

Therefore, I say everything inspires me.

Thanks for everyone who took the time to post their views on what inspires them to write....hopefully anyone who is maybe suffering a little writers block at the minute can come in and get some ideas and stuff from all you guys.

Life = Inspiration.

I am most inspired by the people around me. I love writing about my life and relationships with family and friends. Most of my poems are about fallouts and hurt.

I only seem to be able to write poetry when I'm sad, luckely that happens often enough to write once and a while,but i can write relativly possitive then as well, about a friend or so

Friends inspire me the most, closely followed by my lifes` experience. It hasn`t always been pretty, but man, when I am down, I can really write alot.

Many things Inspire me to write poetry on...
I think all would agree that the main cause is our own life experiances...but i also love to write make-believe poetry or things that happen to the world around me...Things that inspire me in general..Inspire me to write :)

Everything around me inspired me to write poetry. I think loving music the way I do is what got me going. After awhile Love got me to express my feelings and how I felt and then a broken heart opened up a new form of writing style. I adore writing poetry and I don’t care if I am not good at it. I also find it some what of a stress reliever too, I have two poems that aren’t very nice and dealing with customers all day long can really prick me off. But oh well, life shall go on. :D

That goes for me too. Offcourse there are also many other things that inspire me, but pain inspires me the most.

Music! I love to listen, then turn around and use the emotions I get from what was sung. I actually listen to a wide variety of music, though I mostly write about the 'negative' emotions. I do do 'positive' ones too... just not as many >3

Inspires me to write? The need to get better, my enjoyment of writting, my need to get a deeper understanding of things, my want to release some tensoin, and the fact I want to write things down before I force them back to my head.

Music mainly. I'll hear a song with good lyrics, and I feel a desire to try right about something alike.

Or something that has happened in my life that feels like a worthwhile topic.

Blank paper.
A lonely pencil.

These inspire my soul to write what spontaneously comes to me.

What inspires me is others` poems, music, and titles. I have thought of titles or lines in a poem right when I am talking to them. Its an amazing process sometimes.

Write likes video picturing.

Love and emotion are showing in a picture.

obviously my life, and my thoughts and feelings.
My friends and my family and the people close to me.
The world around me, other people's lives.
Music! Definately music, it is something i've always loved.
