Too many times I've been here before
Too many times and now once more.

Too many times, now I'm starting to see
Too many times that you never loved me
Too many times that you never were there
Too many times, now my soul is left bare

The weather beaten garden clock betrays some laziness
The once precise hands have now grown rhythm-less

The laced hammock sways beneath the winking stars
And the silver moonlight floods the dale of flowers

But something strikes my heart as I lie in that light
Enveloped in the velvet silence of this queer night

The dancing flame of fire still burns the candle wick
The bottle of cherry wine lies smashed by my drunken kick

The wind is steady; blows strong without a change
But somehow this heart of mine has never felt as strange

But now my thoughts chase each other to victory
And I finally understand the cause of my misery

On this very hammock she used to be in my embrace
I used to kiss her till she fell asleep, exhaling on my face

On this quiescent trail we had patted smiling flowers
Formed imaginary hearts by joining the radiant stars

Between these very hills our winter moons had sunk
We’d break the wine bottles each time we got drunk

The butterflies had blushed upon seeing our first kiss
Laying on the fresh-cut grass, enclosed in a smitten mist

And now I lie, drunk, with wine and memories of two
I hope missing her is not something I must get used to

The air of strangeness transforms to a glacial breath
This new life of loneliness is in fact a living death

The wind puts out the candle, darkness adds to gloom
Even the gusts now bring the rosy scent of her perfume

And as it intoxicates me, my eyes turn to scour
I look around for her, until I realize she is afar

But every time a star falls, this heart of mine believes
And searches for her, once again, amidst the mocking breeze....

Mom, I hope you're proud of me,
even though I lay here dead.
I'm sorry that you had to see,
what Sunday's paper read.

"Six American soldiers found dead,
as the result of a roadside bomb."
I know you said I should have stayed,
but either way I would have gone.

Now, that I look back on things,
I realize that I did wrong.
I wish I could have realized it,
before my funeral song.

I found out while in battle,
that the war had little reason.
The bullies against the nerds,
not God against the heathens.

Iraq, was like a movie,
where you can't believe the scenes.
America truly was the enemy,
"the ruiners of dreams."

Just another pointless war,
that the U.S. "had" to fight.
Instead of listening to George,
I should have done what was right.

Now, I lay here motionless,
listening to the priest.
Remembering how life was,
before I was deceased.

we use to be happy giggle all the time but i feel like I've dyed inside.

many night id sit and cry, all i could wounder is why oh why.

how come you were taken away from me,

Boy Meets Girl

Boy meets girl, he says "Hi, I'm AJ, what's your name?"
She says, "I'm Erika", as she smiles with this proclaim.
He's into music, and so is she,
He's in a band, and thinks she's pretty.

Boy meets girl, again on Saturday,
They began talking on the phone, with so much to say.
He asked her out, and she said yes,
They fell in love, and lost all stress.

Five years from then, boy is now a man,
Girl is a woman, and they still hold hands.
He decided that 5 years is enough, and popped the question,
Again she said yes, and prepared for wedding tension.

They got married; it went off without a hitch,
They lived together forever, without a glitch.
They had two kids, and four grand ones,
They were buried together, in their oak coffins.

Boy meets girl, dead, but still in love,
They're bodies are here, but their spirits above.

As she sits there, with her friend in her hand,
She wonders how many times they have been through this exact same situation. The one she swore to herself would never happen again!

Red is the Colour of her soul tonight,
Red is the Colour of Blood
Red cannot show through the window tonight
Red is in her mind.

She clinches the one thing she knows will never
Leave her, her crutch, her friend, her knife.
The silver blade gleems in the moonlight, as she
Loosens her grip on life.....it is all too late.

-My New Blue Shoes

*!*! My New Blue Shoes *!*!

As a teenager I remember the day
I got my first pair of new shoes
they were blue and so awful
to wear them I wanted to refuse

the proud look upon my mother's face
left me feeling like a spoiled child
money was so very tight
so I just took them and smiled

at school I was teased and laughed at
because my blue shoes looked so funny
but with mom trying to support four kids
there often wasn't much money

hand me downs we wore often
these shoes were the only thing ever new
momma out of love bought them
even though our hydro bill was over due

the next week she worked overtime
trying to catch up on the bills
I hadn't even noticed
she was taking three kinds of pills

we got the phone call late one night
that momma had passed away
Aunt Sally came to pick us up
at her place we would stay

upon my pillow that night
was an envelope addressed to me
the meaning behind the blue shoes
I could now clearly see

it read " my dear precious child"
I am sorry money was always so tight
for once I wanted to buy you something new
and these shoes felt so right

were them and be proud
for the person that you are
forever I will be with you child
I will never be very far

I wore those shoes on my wedding day
something old, something blue
and momma was so right
when she said "I will always be with you"

Mingled together trying to escape,
Her body was there but her soul lay some where else,
Never knowing what she was thinking,
Changing in more ways then I could've for shadowed...

Living alone in a world of solitude,
As she searches for the girl she wants to be,
Everything that once mattered lay buried,
Trying to understand why you had to change...

Wondering what happened to the girl I once knew,
Perhaps she lay trapped in your soul,
Trying desperately to be seen once again,
Unable to comprehend how much you changed...

Everyday you make more people more aware,
Of the person you are becoming,
Letting go of the past was simple,
Changing yourself came easier then anyone would've expected...

Letting go of things you once held dear,
Never able to comprehend why we can no longer be friends,
Giving up hope on knowing you once again,
Changing into a person no one wants to know...
