Does the Justice system actually bring Justice? And do you think the death of a human being be worth a few years in prison?

I ask this question because I find the word "Justice" does not actually hold up it's meaning.

I would like to hear your opinions on it?

Justice is just another illusion, like security... as for 'do you think it's worth a few years in prison for killing someone?'
Depends on who and why surely, I can think of a number of so-called fellow human's who I'd love to take out...

Funny I should see a post that sort of relates to whats going on in the family at the minute.....I dont want to be putting my family business on here lol but my view is it really depends on the case in other words what happened to cause the death of a person and also on the type of person that caused the death in the first place...did they do it intentionally or was it reckless behaviour....you cant just judge the situation on the lines of a life for a life...no one has that right. Not everyone gets the justice that they want but thats how things happen in life.

Have any of you looked carefully at the statue of Lady Justice blindfolded and holding a set of scales and thought about the image? She is blindfolded because justice is blind and will always be blind, the scales are not balanced and tipped to one side meaning that justice shall never be completely fair.

Quite frankly, sentencing a person for a few years for killing someone is very lenient by any standards. A life is taken and cannot be replaced, ever think about the long range consequences to the families affected? They are not affected for a couple of years but for their whole entire lives by such a tragic event. Is it fair to them?

    Hi everyone,

Steven I do understand were you are coming from, life can be so unfair in so many ways....unfortunately I have been on both sides of the justice system. My brother was killed, run over by police speeding and they tried to cover it up his case still has'nt been settled and that was 3 years ago he was only 18 years old and it has emotionally and physically torn our whole family apart. So yeah I have a lot of anger inside because of what they done. As for the other side well my dad was drink driving, im not going to give excuses for him as to why he was, the fact is he done it. He badly injured a women and took the life of another and mentally he cant live with it himself. He is currently awaiting sentence in prison. Im so angry at his actions because what he done was wrong but he is still my dad and he knows how I feel. As for the lady that died I feel distraught for her family because I know how I felt when my brothers life was snatched away from him I wanted revenge. The victims family probably wants to destroy my dad on site but thats something he will have to live with, and its something I will have to understand. Thats why I mentioned earlier that it depends on the situation and the actions of the person. There is no excuse for murder etc there never will be, but justice to me is just another word it means nothing to me. The policemen that killed my brother are still alowed to work on the streets because they went to see a doctor of some sort. Thats not justice at all. People have emotions, every single one of us and in a court you have a jury that have emotions, if you ask a person to give a verdict on what they have heard depending on what was said in the court you can guarantee that emotionally it will effect the jurers decision not to mention the judge.

    Lise:

I am sorry about the loss of your brother. I hope you remember that by you telling the whole world, many will be inspired to fight against the same favoritism and injustices that plague our world.

    Thank you for sharing...

Thank you Ismail for your lovely comment much appreciated. ;-)

Sluvious without sounding offensive, I think your suggestion of a bullet in the head of that lady was a little harsh!!! In my view there had to be something so mentally insane with that lady in the first place for her to be able to have the heart to take the lives of her own kids? How anyone could do such a thing is beyond me. She seriously needs help but when she recieves that help and she eventually comes back to reality....if she even does that is, she has the life sentence of living with that fact that she is now childless and that she was the cause of her childrens death. i know I could'nt live with that. As I say again we are all welcome to voice our opinions.

Thankfully there is such a thing as difference of opinion lol. what if you were driving down a road one night and you had a lot on your mind your phone rings and you glance at it mybe just for a second...not to answer it just to see who the caller is and you ....run a person down and kill them....do you think that person should be killed for what happened? Im just curious to hear the answers on this.

Or for that matter read up on how Sharon Tate was murdered by Charles Manson. A pyshco that has been given too much kindness.

There was one pyshco taxi driver in our city a number of years ago who was a serial killer and killed about 10 women. That was not all he did, he dismembered certain body parts from each victim and kept them in specimen jars in his home.

He was caught and sentenced for life imprisonment, but was recently let out of jail due to good behaviour. Do you think that is fair, do you think that is wise? He should have been given a bullet or hung! Think of all the agony the families went through and and are now subjected to due to his release.

Bob, many of the nazi war criminals did not do the actual murders but were the masterminds behind them, does that mean they are not guilty? They are just as guilty for arranging the slaying of others and even though they did not pull the trigger or ever see their victims. They are just as sick. Are they not an accomplice to such horrific crimes?

All should be dealt with fairly and squarely, those directly and indirectly involved.

Manson was the mastermind, he buillt up his cult family and brainwashed his followers to do his dirty deeds for him. He is just as guilty, just as Osama Bin is.

Okay, I think I should explain myself lol....Steven I perfectly agree with what your saying evil people like that dont deserve any leaniensy at all, because they planned to murder and kill.

Now I dont understand what happened about that lady that killed her children...infact I really could'nt bring myself to read that story, it would probably break my heart. I was pointing out that it is insane for someone to be able to do that.

A person who plans to murder someone should be given the harshest sentence possible because they intentionally took a persons life. What I was trying to get across was if it was'nt intentionally should the person still be treated in the same way that a sadist murderer should? Thats what I was asking.

I believe that anyone who plans to take the life of one or thousands, what ever it may be even if they did not do it themselves should be trialed in exactly the same way that the person who committed the murder that I do agree on, if they had'nt of planned it then the person or people would not have died, so it was down to their actions.

I apoligize if I did'nt explain myself correctly before.

P.S I've written a piece on this, I posted it on the site, if anyone is unsure of what im trying to get across you can take a look at it.

Justice In America Is An Over-statement, Theres More In-Just Ways Of The American Legal System Than There Is Just....We Should Be Ashamed To Have The Statue Of The Blind Person With The Balance In Their Hands....Yeah Justice Is Blind But Tell That To The Media & The Jury xoxo-Nikki-xoxo
