Help on my ryhming skills

    i love to rythme but i also get writers block...i don't know how to excatly find words to rythme with so it takes me forever to write one poem! does anyone have any advice for me?

    My honest advice would be to stop rhyming, but seeing as I am a bit biased I would also suggest different rhyming formats - try using a different format to just a-b-a-b, or maybe you could even just have the last line in each stanza rhyme, this still keeps the flow but means you are far less restricted in the words you can choose.

    read famous poets and/or write a poem without rhymes.

    I used to have that problem until I realized that words don't have to rhyme perfectly. For example, you can rhyme words that have the same sound, like day and afraid, home and alone, born and storm, etc.
    There's a word for this type of rhyme but I can't remember what it is. Hope that helps.
