Can't sleep..

    I have problems falling a sleep at night, I lay in my bed being afraid.. I have to many things on my mind to get relaxed.. I don't want to try sleepingpills, anybody some advice?

    Take a hot bath with the lights off b4 you go to bed. That has always helped me. Or I pop in my anti-stress CD and listen to it, knocks me out in like 10 minutes.

    i agree with the meditation! it ahelped me stop cutting because it kinda helps sort things out in you head! and some good tea definatley couldn't hurt! i love tea personally!

    Right.

    1) Keep your room tidy (Yes I hate it too) but clutter really doesn't help you sleep.

    2) A bed is for sleeping, don't lay in bed and watch television/revise/do homework etc.

    3) Lightly spray your bed and pyjamas with lavender spray (You can buy it in any pharmacie, and most large supermarkets), it really helps you sleep.

    4) Don't drink alocohol/high caffeine drinks (e.g tea/coffee/coke) at least an hour and a half before sleeping.

    5) If you need to drink, drink water, if you like milk - even better.

    6) Don't try and go to sleep, if you can't sleep, get up and read a book (DONT lay IN bed and read - just sit on top of your bed, not under covers)

    7) Make sure you're happy with your surroundings, paint the walls of your room if you don't like the colour, change you're duvet if you don't like the pattern.

    8) Most of all, look forwards to sleeping, don't dread it - it makes your brain think it's worse than it actually is.
