Well I can only write (good) depressive poems because I am in that mood;or feeling, you can't write happy if you are sad...

I dig what u are saying man. u just have those vibes surrounding u, yeh dig? i write whatever i am feeling like, dont force ur writing to be about something you arent feeling, it will take away some of the emotion and meaning. it happens to everyone. just go with the flow.

I look at the bright side all the time. I have to or I can't survive. So why are most of my over 50 poems sad and depressing? I even have one called "I Cry". thanks for any response

Jey Jackie, thanks. That's all I can write. I did write one happy poem once. I did it just to see if I could do it. I am a happy person in life, but my life has been hard, maybe like they said, deep down I am sad.

i believe ones subconscious comes out in a persons writing. If you are mainly happy, then your poems will reflect that. I find that if i want to write about a different emotion to that I am feeling, i need to get myself in that mindset. If this is too difficult, then go with the emotions you are feeling. Either way, you will feel better for getting it down.

    Good luck.
