some will talk and talk and talk, others will very rapidly give medication , but doctors mostly do know the right persons to talk to, so better to ask for a psychologist yourself, unless you have a very understanding doctor of course, but don't run to a doc to fast , once you start with medication and therapy it'll soon seem like you can't go witout that kind of stuff, try friends and so first to talk when you don't feel to well

I have been in therapy and it was really different then I thought it would be.
It was more relaxt, it is hard and I didn't feel the changes I was going through because of my therapy but it did helped.
You just need to find a therapist where you feel comfortable with, you can always stop if you think that the person is not right for you.

I think you have already made the first step by thinking about seeing a therapist, now make the second step and go to one!

    Take care.

To cure depression, you will need to understand the problem, get to the root of it, so you can let go of the feelings that are bringing you down. The way to do that is through a therapist a majority of the time, so I'd imagine your doctor will refer you.

He probably will put you on a steady dose of medication, but that doesn't counter the problem in the long run, just give you a temporary high, if you like.

The doctor should talk you through your options. If there is specific action you want to take, ask the doctor. Seeing a therapist was one of the best things I ever did, and I would recommend it to anyone else.
