    I read somewhere that in the US:

    50% of marriages end in divorce. *wow*
    80% of divorced people remarry;
    more than 50% divorce again. *WOW*

    I was interested to know if it's really true or not.
    what's your opinion???

    I'm actually surprised that it's "just" 50%. When I look around I would think it's like 80% hah... Ye.. sad isn't it?

    Those aren't marriage stats, they are intelligence test scores.

    : )

    Why can't people just be together, live together and have lots of wonderful love making sex without bits of paper and the government having anything to do with it!

    Not for me.

    Because idealism has no place in the world Kevin...Shame.

    I think people fear to be alone, so they marry the next person they are attracted to. Sad really...

    Kevin, marriage isnt about having sex. It's about LOVE...most people say that the meaning of their life comes clear when they look in their kid's eyes...Marriage is so much more than sex.

    Sluvy wrote a poem, "let me make love to you", read that if you get a chance...and you will know how wonderful it is to "make love", rather than have sex.

    Dhavel, yeah I know that, strangely.

    Love is about love, marriage is about tax breaks and functionalist conventions and making little units to continue the socialization process and expand the work force...do you know what i'm talking about.

    People love and create love, encourage it....society and governments create and encourage marriage.

    My point was that you can love someone completely without being in love with them and also have children and raise them properly...again without a bit of paper.

    So why bother...there is nothing natural and good in a relationship that requires marriage.
