Sluvious, if that was true...then there would be no such thing as Christianity, because if you are too good for this world, then there's only one way out...suicide, and that's just not Christian... |

I think Sean raises a good point as to where homosexuality does come from. Is it a brain defect (no offence intended), is it genetical? Or is it growing up in a certain manner. |

I believe you can be homosexual & still be a christian. |

ok, so humans are created to reproduce. survival tactics etc. whatever. homosexuality isnt new its just more public. I think its more of a pleasure thing. If people dont feel pleasure when they are with the opposite sex then they do so with the same sex or both or neither. its all about pleasure. |

im sorry to be obnoxious but the bible did not appear miraculously. someone wrote it down, so it was subjected to embellishments. not to mention the church did decide what was legit and what was not. again in the hands of man. and man is corrupt. this isnt just in christianity, its in all religion. everything has passed through the hands of men and it has been embellished. |

how about bringing the da vinci code into this, eh? it says that the bible was changed...what we are reading is not the whole truth...the real bible is hidden somewhere...and before you bite me like a pack of dogs, let me clarify that i know nothing above this, i am only mentioning what the books says... |

The bible was never changed, and the real bible is the one we all know something of. However, the bible is a work of man, not of some god..well actually the work of many men that never even met... |

I have one quick question for sluvy... It's a little off topic, but I'm a little confused on one thing. If there was no such thing as organized religion, where would believers go to worship? I mean, I realize that we can pray at home, but I've seen you bash prayer before too. If there is no place for prayer and worship, then what is religion to you? |

There are many ways of being spiritual... I myself do not enjoy going to church, but I find if I don't go to church I only pray when it is REALLY needed, which I feel is wrong. I just find it hard to keep up with my spirituality, without the help of church. It might just be my lack of maturity... I feel if you are going to have a relationship with God it has to be give and take, if not don't have a relationship with him/her. My way of giving back to God is basking in his/her glory every week for an hour at church. I don't feel there is any other way... Some people say they just talk to God, but for me it's difficult to talk to him on the same level as a "friend," he is to righteous for that kind of conversation. Sluvy, I would definitely appreciate hearing what you think about what I'm saying. You seem much wiser than me, and if you can help me find an alternate route in going to church it would be much appreciated. : ) |

Alright, I am Catholic, and yes homosexuals are frowned upon in our church, but in no way does that mean I hate homosexuals. Although, they aren't accepted in our church, we are taught to respect them as equals, along with people of different races, religions, and cultures. Just because they do not abide by the rules of our church, doesn't mean they are not equal to us. Sluvy, you have a way of twisting people's words to make them sound like they are conveying a message that they are not conveying. Also, Sluvious and Sunny, I like your works, but I do not like how you tag team people in the forums. Just because people have different viewpoints than you guys, doesn't mean you should make them feel unwelcome in the forums, let alone the site. Aside from that, you are great people and poets. |

honestly thats what i dont believe in. go to church doesnt prove anything. i go to a temple every sunday and the only reason i put up with it is because i see some of my friends there. im an active member of the sunday school because it relates god to modern ideas and i can shape my beliefs. but sitting and praying. well i believe its stupid. when you are forced to do it, its not worth it. and if god is there all the time omnipresent and what, everyone should be able to pray whenever. i get yellled at for puting a sacred scripture on the ground. but why it didnt fall from heaven. |

Pah, your attempts to placate me are for nought...i'm forever writing really insightful posts in what appear to be serious religious debates...only to have some jeeeurk [brooklyn accent] come in and start ranting on about who one time when they were thirteen they saw a strange configeration of lumps on a tea cake that looked like Jesus..and so God must be real. |

there is no question that you can be a believer and also be homosexual but this is an abomination to God. it doesnt matter who allows it. Christians should follow the Bible (God's Word) |
