Mu grandma has Alzheimer

Hi. My grandma has Alzheimer, and it has gotten a lot worse lately. I haven't met her since a long time, but I've talked to her on the phone. She thought I was a hat designer, and Im 14!

Its been higly rough on my mother, and she says grandma might not even remember me, and might try to accuse me of steeling her things.

My grandma might yell at me for nothing, and forget it by the next five minutes. Mom and dad says I am supposed to try to not let it get to me.

And now I am totally confused. I mean, how can you not let it get to you? She's my grandma for heavens sake, and they are telling me to ignore it?

What should I do, and how should I deal with it?

My Grandmother has alzheimers it's so sad visiting her because she is convinced a man is up in her tree, and I always cheak. Just be there for her and show her you love her. That's really all you can do.

My great aunt had alzhiemers so i kinda no how u feel.... and altho Your grandma might not remember u just show her things to make her laugh... cuz u still now her and u still no wut she likes... juts make her smile... and show her ur a nice person every time u see her and just ur make u time together memorable nad happy.... at least then at that moment she will have fun with u and she will be smiling even if she mite not remember thos past moment where u were smiling together...

But sometimes u have to give up ur saddness to make someone else happy... just imagine how confused she must feel rite now?

Maybe for awhile you can make her feel not so confused... and more at eased and enjoyed....

sweety, a lot of our grandmothers have alzheimer's.

my mom said that my grandma was misdiagnosed and she really has dymensia, but i'm not sure. she's forgotten about her 12th daughter (my mom) and thinks that I have 2 sisters (my mom and my 6 year old picture). I love her so badly. she just smiles but doesn't truly understand.

I blame my family... they didn't take care of her and misfed her while my parents, brother, and I were all the way in the US. Every time I remember that, I can't help but ask, "Why her?" She was a war hero....

Don't give up.. your grandma might not remember you, but love her anyway. Be her friend..
