    I'll start off them

Title: You Are Not Alone (Just Look This Way)
    By: Gaara
    GRoup: EOP

    Type: serious

When the world feels so cruel,
    Life seems to be unbearable,
    Just look to the sky,
Have they not seen worse than what you are in now.

If your friend seem to lose interest,
The things that make you happy,
    Now shatter your heart,
    And you lost all hope.
    You are not alone,
    Just look this way,
And you'll see what we all see.

This world is not as bad as you think,
This heart is not shattered for any reason,
It is our hardships that make us strong,
And it's our hope that makes people realize,
That within us, is another being,
    A more beautiful human being,
Then the one you see on the outside.

When everything seeing to shatter down,
Don't worry; it's not the end of the world,
Just look at the smile that person gave you,
Doesn't that light up your world?
Don't those warm eyes tell you all?
    That you are never alone.

When no one seems to care,
Remember that smile the other day,
And see the world through that pearson's eye,
    And guess what?
The world is the best thing you ever know.

    So, remember this,
    You are never alone,
    Just look this way,
    And you'll know the truth,
That the world is so much better than what it seems.

    TITLE: Changes in the world
BY: Nate aka “The Tie Guy”
    TYPE: Serious
    CLUB: Coffee..Conversation and Poetry

The first thing to do, is to get America to come through.
We have the technology, but we do not seem to see.
We can make alternative fuels, but politicians are cruel.
When will we smarten up, to the Mideast we are pups.
Why must we wait, until we send more troops to the bait.
In 1970 we knew this, now that is why I am pissed.
Oil companies are too strong, that is just plain wrong.
Car companies buy the politicians too, and we are like a bunch of cattle - Moo!
Global warming is part of all this, fossil fuels - send away with a kiss.
Gas prices still soar, it eats me to the core.
I would change this one deed, I would make the government take the lead.
They would pay big bucks, to anyone who can solve this muck.
Everyone knows that money talks, and that bulls_ _ t walks.
No, this does not solve everything, but oil would not be the bling-bling.

    TITLE: Changes I would make
BY: Nate aka “The Tie Guy”
    TYPE: Funny
    CLUB: Coffee..Conversations and Poetry

My first decree would be to say,
it is a parkway not a driveway.
The car is parked any fool can see,
so it is a parkway, I would decree.

The second correction I would make,
is to swap some salaries around for heavens sake.
How about teachers being paid a million a year,
and ball players being paid just enough to get a beer.

Then I would make all those droopy drawer boys pull up their pants,
and make all the negative people say I think I can instead of I think I cants.
Next I would neuter and spade all the ignorant homo sapiens,
because they should not reproduce, to me it offends.

Politicians, now there is a group of idiots,
getting all dressed up and putting on the Ritz.
Then vote their pocketbooks, and that is no lie.
I say they get one term, but boy would they cry.

As for voting to go to war, I have the answer to that too,
let the world leaders fight it out, and get their just due.
I know one thing, if that were the case,
they would find a peaceful solution face to face.

Who am I to make these changes, why my name is Nate,
and you and all your friends can vote for me in 2008.

    Life's Lullaby
    Done By Gaara
    Topic: Serious
    Group: EOP

Little baby, open up your eyes,
You are in a world that holds such beauty,
    Through those eyes,
    See nothing but beauty.

Little child, play in the vast fields
Let no thorn or fall stop you,
From the things you wish to do
And grow up to be a young man

    Young teenager,
    I'm here by your side,
    To take away your fears,
    And wash away the tears.

    Young adult,
    You've grown so much,
    Life is getting crueler,
But remember the beauty you saw as a baby.

    Young groom,
    Walking down the aisle,
You're soon to start your own life,
    And repeat life's lullaby

    Life's lullaby,
    Playing each and every day,
    Giving us options and choices,
To see how we survive each day.

    Life sings its song again,
    And the cycle turns around,
All because a baby is born,
Through its eyes the world is a beautiful place.

So think of those days you dwelled on sadness,
And remember that little child inside you,
Running through the fields of sakura trees,
And smiling as he catches the butterfly in his hands.

    Remember that young teenager,
Eager to grow up and learn,
Rebelling against those who taught him,
    Trying to change the world.

    Remember that young adult,
    Living life day by day,
Making sure he is able to stay alive,
    Surviving fall after fall.

Remember everything that brought you to this day,
Everything that made you this way,
    And remember that within you,
You are far the best thing you can be.

    Life's lullaby,
    Playing each day,
Are you going to follow the tune?
Or will you change this lullaby song.

*you have only one life to live, use it wisely and do something about the problem you face each and every day, rather than dwell on the sadness and curse the day you were alive... it truly saddens me those who do not see the beauty in just living, dwell on sadness and then die not knowing how much they have missed in this world.*

    Calypso Freeze
    By: Gaara
    Type: Funny
    Club: EOP

    Enjoying a morning walk,
    Chalking on the ground,
    It’s homecoming week,
    With the Calypso theme

    So off we go,
    Me and my group,
    Happily getting the chalk,
Hey where are we choosing our location.

    Down we go,
    Drawing the patterns,
    I start to feel cold,
    Shoot, I forgot my jacket.

    Weather drops really down,
    I'm freezing my b u t t off,
    But hey,
    We’re winning

So now I’m in the house,
    Thawing from the cold,
    Learned my lesson,
Never will I forget my jacket again.

    Title: Consuming Dream
    By:Jacklyn
    Type: serious
    Club: EOP!

    Inside her blooms a sadness
    hidden within her conscience
to which, she shows no one
so her sadness remains a secret

With every meal and every day
she was consumed by her dream
    Of becoming thin and pretty
which ate at her heart slowly

Each plate she ate grew smaller
as puke then consumed the toilet
She cried from all the loneliness
making her dream just that important

    Frightening friends and family
as all her health has disappeared
Fearing to now be far too late
as another soul escapes the taste

    June 15, 2006

If i could change one thing it would be the view of beauty that many girls are taking from the media. TV, magazines, actresses, ect. have a lot of thin bodies that the media always claims is hot, sexy, and beautiful. So many people (a lot being teenage girls) just starve their bodies to try and get this image and in the end they end up dead. If they lived a full filled life though, who knows what kind of impact they could have possibly had. Being an individual, a unique and creative person is the beauty that people can truly show but we have a society that seems so focused on image and not what truly seems to count.

I represent myself and Poetry analysis and breakdown club...first one is serious...the second is tongue in cheek. Rock on.

    Tortoise Rules.

    On the run
    and my what fun
it is to tig and tag yourself

    "I think I'll change"
    you one day claim
    "into a better person"

    a book
    a class
    or some therapy taken
and then you go about demonstrating
    to everyone you know
    that you have changed
    when in fact
    you're nothing but the same

    to force a change
    like pushing love
or trying to smile in sorrow
will only make you doubt yourself
then another change you will borrow

    and then thus loaded
    you will be goaded
    into thinking you are prepared

but a smack in the face
or a shock to the system
    the changes are gone!
    off they ran
    and you missed them

    you're left as you were
as you are one and only
    you change as you live
    do not force
    it comes slowly

[that was my "serious" one...and this is my "funny" one.

    SCHOOLS OUT !!
    by Kevin Murray

    Aw yeah man
    I ain't angry at them
    SLAP! KICK!! PUNCH!!!
wake up you ducks! [: )]
    You laugh laugh laugh
    then laugh at laughing
    in groups like troops
    a direct order
    well head for the hills
    run for the border!

For I am here to restore order!

I teach classes in manic depression
    you will all listen
    I'll give you homework
    you'll learn to love
    that laugh sincerely
    for the pain of sorrow
    you'll know clearly

    I can't wait man
    till you're all like me

    You'll sink so low
    you'll know what high is
    darkness falls
    but look!
    here's brightness

    On the streets
    you'll find me creeping
looking for a soul that's sleeping
    SLAP! KICK!! PUNCH!!!
    down they go
    a class or two
    look how they glow!

{both very simple, both very old poems...but there you go.]

If you want to change the world...you have to do it person to person...starting with yourself

    Fact. : )

    Title: The Devil's Feast
    By: Sean Dohr
    Type: Funny/Serious
    Club: EOP

    Our world is moving backward,
fighting wars from in the past.
    Worrying about biological warfare,
when our president should be gassed.

Slitting wrists is now in style,
among the youth of this decade.
It's like your life can't be complete,
    without drugs and getting laid.

Even child abuse is on the rise,
sick parents who like to molest.
In order to become a parent,
you should have to pass a test.

    People even question faith,
    within the Christian world,
    just because deranged priests,
    molested little boys and girls.

    There are so many idiots,
    among the world today.
    So many stupid optimists,
    that are always acting gay.

I'm so sick of all their lies,
    and all their forced beliefs.
I can't be happy with this world,
so I'll partake in the devil's feast.

~If I had the power to change the world, these would be the issues I would most likely focus on.~

    Title: Hindsight
    By: Sean Dohr
    Type: Funny/Serious
    Club: EOP

I wonder what Martin would think,
if he took a look at our generation,
and saw that those he once stood for,
    have succumbed to degradation.

He'd scowl at the way women are treated,
by the men of their own race.
Treated as nothing more than property,
    a nationwide disgrace.

    He'd watch the hip-hop videos,
turning his head as if not to see,
    women dancing half-naked,
    right upside Snoop D O double G.

He would see the war is civil now,
race no longer divides the sides.
    The black population kills itself,
gang members who kill to survive.

He'd realize that his time was wasted,
    no improvements have been made.
There is only one true difference now,
    whites aren't needed to degrade.

~I would most definitely help Martin Luther King's cause, because he is still fighting a losing battle.~

many years ago, when time had no meaning, the world was different, it was abundant, with tree's, leaves and shrubs, many animals, then the humans came along, destroying many things, if the world was back to what, it was many years ago, thats how i'd like it, so change the world, back to what it was.

    Title: Almost Paradise
    By: Italian Stallion
    Type: Serious
    Club: EOP

    When I saw you
I knew I was in love
    Looked up at the sky
And thanked God from up above

    Each time I stepped closer
    Your smile grew bigger
I said hi my name is Joe
Can I take you out sometime

    Our conversation grew deeper
As she said I have a boyfriend
I looked up at the sky
And said, I thought dreams were supposed to come true

I told her I was sorry
And just wanted to be friends
For every time I saw her, I saw paradise
And I knew deep inside, that I couldn't lose her

    Why, oh why
Did it have to be this way
    I pray every night
    That she'll become mine

    And when that day comes
    I'll smile everyday
And thank God for answering my prayers

    Use us as an example
For our love can change the world
    And stop people from hating
    And love more everyday
